Guillermo del Toro’s Trollhunters Renewed for a Second Season by Netflix

If you fell in love with the world beneath our own while watching Guillermo Del Toro’s Trollhunters this winter, then you’ll be pleased to know that Jim’s adventures are only beginning, as the series has been renewed for a second season by Netflix.

Comprised of 13 episodes, Trollhunters Season 2 will be released on Netflix sometime this year. In the meantime, we have the official details and a teaser image for season 2:

Dark Desires Become Realities in Trailer for Wish Upon, Co-Starring Shannon Purser from Stranger Things

Leonetti focused his lens on a haunted doll in The Conjuring spinoff film Annabelle, and his next film will highlight the horrors of a music box with the powers to grant even the most gruesome of your wishes. Shudder Acquires North American Rights to Pregnancy Horror Comedy Prevenge

Many horror fans may remember Alice Lowe as the tourist Tina on the vacation that went horribly wrong in Ben Wheatley’s Sightseers, and the actress / filmmaker is now bringing another memorable character to life in her new horror comedy Prevenge, which has been acquired for North American distribution by the streaming service Shudder.

Shudder will release Prevenge on their streaming service (and in select New York and Los Angeles theaters) beginning March 24th, following the film’s showing at the SXSW Film Festival. Below, we have the official press release with full details.

Castlevania Animated Series Coming to Netflix

The Belmont family’s feud with Dracula and his bloodsucking followers is coming to Netflix in a new Castlevania animated series.

Netflix announced today that they will release Castlevania Season 1, Part 1 sometime this year. Based on Konami’s dark fantasy video game franchise that kicked off in 1986, the Castlevania animated series is written by Warren Ellis and will follow the Belmont family as they go up against Vlad Dracula Tepe, with the fate of Eastern Europe hanging in the balance.

A specific release date, casting details, and images of the series (the above image is from the Nes box art for the Castlevania video game) have not yet been revealed, but you can check out the official info on the series from Netflix below, as well as an excerpt from the press release. R.L. Stine Gives Status Update on Fear Street Film

Back in October of 2015, horror fans who have a soft spot for Shadyside received an early Halloween treat when it was reported that a Fear Street movie was in the works at 20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment. Since that autumn, the news front on the project has been relatively quiet, but R.L. Stine himself recently broke that silence during a Twitter Q&A.

On the evening of February 7th, Stine answered questions from fans on his Twitter page, and when he was asked about the Fear Street movie, he tweeted this response:

“The Fear Street movie is in production. Yaaay. Now we are waiting for a good script. Watch for it next year, I think.”

When another fan inquired about which Fear Street novel the film will be based on, Stine revealed some interesting (and surprising) news:

SXSW 2017: New Images from Trent Haaga’s Film Adaptation of Bryan Smith’s 68 Kill

For years, horror author Bryan Smith has been writing some of the genre’s most consistently entertaining, wildly unpredictable, and thought-provoking (and blood-splattered) novels, one of which, 68 Kill, will raise hell on the big screen this March at the SXSW Film Festival in Trent Haaga’s anticipated adaptation. Ahead of its world premiere, new images from 68 Kill offer a look at the upcoming thriller.

EW revealed two new images for 68 Kill that you can view along with a previously unveiled still below.

Ross Duffer Comments on Stranger Things 2, EW Unveils New Look at Second Season

Stranger Things fans recently had their worlds rocked by a Super Bowl ad for the show, and the cover for the new issue of Entertainment Weekly features another look at the series’ second season, including Eleven’s new hairdo.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, series co-creator Ross Duffer discussed the direction he and his brother, Matt, are taking with Stranger Things 2:

“It’s a balance of the comfort you’re familiar with but then trying to take it in new directions. That’s what we’re trying to strike with season 2.”

Demonic Trade Paperback Coming This March from Image Comics and Skybound

Back in August, Image Comics and Skybound resurrected Robert Kirkman’s Demonic in a new comic book series penned by Christopher Sebela, and this March they will release a trade paperback of the series’ first six issues.

James Franco’s Dr. Cairn has some unsettling and unconventional treatments in store for his patients in the trailer for The Institute.

Netflix Renews The Oa for a Second Season
