Filmmaker Mike Krumlauf takes us on an experience like no other. Matt McMahon was your everyday guy, trying to find his place. When one choice changes the fate of his life, his best friend is left with overwhelming emotion and unanswered questions. Blurring the line between fact & fantasy, A Place To Call His Own takes us on a journey of life, death, & everything in between. Written by Mike Krumlauf
Outstanding from start to finish!!! While attending college in Naperville, I can attest to witnessing, on numerous accounts, the street racing that goes on. It goes on all the time all over the country, but I can only speak to what I have seen. We all make our own decisions, whether right or wrong. The luckiest of people have woven themselves a never - ending web of support, to be there for them when a wrong decision goes south. This film shows you a snapshot of the web Matt put together over his short life. The situation that Mike portrays through his lens, gives you the feeling of despair when you find out the news, but at the same time you find yourself reflecting on how wonderful a person Matt was to others. With that being said, very talented Mike Krumlauf did a spectacular job portraying the power of positively influencing lives of those around you that you love. We all have people around us like Matt. Unfortunately the filmmaker and friends lost Matt physically, but obviously have the endless intangibles to relish his memories and remember what a truly great person he was to everyone he met.
