Funny cat photos, trending news stories, and the best discussions on the internet—these are just a few of the awesome things the official Reddit app does best.
On Reddit, there’s a community for every subject imaginable: your favorite sports team, relationship advice, memes, the latest in news and politics—all in real time.
And if you like gifs (or jifs, jiffys, glyphs, ifs, however you choose to mispronounce it), we’re positive you'll love it.
What’s that you say, girl? “What about a community dedicated solely to images of cats standing on their hind legs?”
We got that, too.
Whether you’re into movies or space travel, baking or weight training, cheesy dad jokes or more NSFW humor, world news or Hollywood gossip—or all of the above—you can instantly share your content and ideas with an audience of millions.
We’re not saying Reddit is like all your favorite apps put together. But if we were saying that, we’d tell you it has:
• the trendy headlines of Twitter
• the educational content of Quora
• the viral pics of Memebase and Imgur
• the jokesters of Tumblr
• the lols of 9GAG and theCHIVE
• the cringeworthy personal stories of FML and Fail Blog
• the rage comics of fourchan
• and the powerful, human stories found only on Reddit.
(Oops, we went full circle.)
So the next time you’re bored and need a break—wait, you’re bored right now? Why are you still reading this? Download the app already!
Those cats won’t stand on their hind legs forever...

This app would be perfect if it could remember to stay on the article I was reading. I'll be reading something then go to check another app, when I have time to go back to story or article it's back on front page. Also a way to view your friends(though maybe I just haven't found that yet)

I've only today joined Reddit, but so far so good. The app is smooth and fast and user friendly. One negative though - I wish clicking 'back' would take me back to where I was, not right back to the start. I click a thread to read then when I click 'back' to go to read the next one it takes me right back to the start and I have to scroll down again to where I was.

Not a place for rational and civil discussion, but there is the rare exception. Making statements others disagree with usually results is revenge down voting even if what you say is grounded in reality and supported by facts and current events. This place is a petri dish for breeding the liberal ideology. If you're conservative, you'll be persecuted.

Great app when it works but >50% of the time it will just sit around loading indefinitely despite having full 4G reception and other apps working fine. I'd like to rate higher but this issue has persisted across different app versions and on different phones.

I like the app but it can be very annoying. You can get 404 errors when uploading photos. I thought it was becuase the file was the wrong format, but it was becuase the file was too large. I have to optimise my picture online before uploading. This makes uploading a pic a drag and annoying. Whilst trying the figure out the issue I discovered Reddit have a upload limit. Also Reddit should add a friend option so you can see what your friends are doing.

It works for a little bit. Then one day you will open the app and it will never load anything ever again. It gives you the perpetual loading circle. Thanks for the troll reddit app devs!

App has a great layout and it is very user friendly. The only problem I have is that gifs do not load quite as nicely in the app as they do in the mobile browser. The fps and resolution are much lower for some reason.
As advertised on reddit's mobile site, this app is much faster than the mobile web version; however, it also has some bugs that make using it frustrating at times. Chiefly, GIFs and videos sometimes refuse to load, no matter how reliable my data connection. Also, the app is missing some key functions from the Web version: the ability to edit my profile, and a place to check out my bookmarked reddits.
Why would the official reddit app not include a feature to send links to subreddits? I have to open Google to get a direct link to /r/news! Seems pretty odd and obvious? The app is fine other than that. But that's such an obvious thing, I'm still docking 3 stars in hopes a dev notices and actually adds it. Cheers!
It's sometimes impossible to tap links in comments, instead collapsing them. Who though that making collapsing comments have such a large tap area was a good idea? Not the best Reddit experience on mobile
Garbage app with far too many bugs. The search feature and sorting threads work only a quarter of the time. There are far better unofficial reddit apps to choose from. Skip this one at all costs.
Some gifs don't load like those from gfycat and Reddit. Can be temperamental. Sometimes clicking into a post will select the post below the one I selected. This needs a lot of work.
For a while now it does load properly on start up. When it does manage to load I can't search subreddits in the search bar, it keeps on saying not found or try again. Had to uninstall and reinstall to fix the problem!
This official app ain't all the great. "Reddit is fun" is way better. Just the overall interface, you can block subreddits, favorite your subreddits for quick access, and just feels better. This is just inferior
Gifs will often not load on Samsung Galaxy s7. They just sit there acting like they are loading, but don't actually load. Sometimes they work properly, but often don't. I've made sure the app was up to date as well.
Good app, but some things work better on the mobile site. For example, you can't check your past posts (and their karma and replies) as easily in the app.
It used to be great but now I can't open the app anymore. Whenever I touch the icon the phone freezes, and I have to lock and unlock the phone to exit this frozen state.
Great layout etc I'll give 5 stars when the app actually run smoothly. The app crashes most of the time when searching for specific stuff and when you click back it brings you right back to the start of the app rather than back to the menu you were on
UI needs work to be feature compete. Example: no way to stop looping gifs once you start them from the list view so they just run perpetually until you get mad and rage quit.
It would be cool if I could delete all the preloaded /r/ stuff in one click. Otherwise... it is about time I joined the reddit circle jerk. Thanks!
Even with an updated app, I cannot view my posts, comments, messages, etc. It does not update that information. If I want to look at it I have to use the website version, and then what's the point? Irritating.
Good stuff - but my front page doesn't seem to be working. It's supposed to show posts from my subscriptions right? It's not, it simply shows the default reddit front page.
This app is lovely! The only thing that needs changing is the collapse comment system, because if i want to click a one word link, i usually miss.
I love reddit! I control what I see, news and links related to what I'm interested in. From silly to serious, this is my go-to for what's new on the interwebs...And what bleeds over from real life.
So...mind to explain yourself why the app keeps loading although my internet connection is good and other apps are working perfectly ? Just downloaded it bcs my friend recommended me but you really gave new users a bad first impression huh...
There doesn't seem to be notifications, or I just can't find them. I'm not really sure but so far it's a nice app, runs well. No problems as of yet.
For my first reddit experience this app done well to introduce the app In an easy to navigate format that works well on a phone. Made the desktop site seem cluttered in in comparison.
Most of the time I have to wait 40 seconds for a gif to load. And I usually have to reload the app, because it can't load more posts. The unofficial app is better.
Good, but won't connect over Wi-Fi. But it works fine over 3G. Used up far too much data because of this issue.
I love reddit but now the app doesn't work on my phone (galaxy s7). Only way it works is if i uninstall and reinstall. It used to work perfectly but dont know what happened.
I love and like it. Somethings like if a automod message occurs in via users inbox tab. It will crash the app or redirect link via by clicking it to an unknown protocal.
you downloaded the app because the site is unbearably slow. Too bad the app is just as badly done as the site. The app also prevents you from opening links in your preferred browser. Uninstal.
App layout is good. One thing tho, they delete your posts if you posses a different view. They may even delete and ban your entire account.
I love reddit as a community and a website, but the app needs a major rehaul. The biggest problem I notice with the app is how the longer I use it, the longer it takes to load images, gifs, and videos.
Rating to get rid of the stupid pop ups. It's does work at least
Worked great until the latest update, now whenever I open the app it loads indefinitely even though other apps work fine and my internet connection is strong. Please fix it and I'll update my review. If not, reddit sync seems to be working ok.
Used the app for almost a year with no issues. Recently, it often can't handling loading the main page when opened. WiFi or data. Only fix is uninstall and reinstall, but it doesn't last long.
I think it's one of the coolest apps I've ever got but the problem is the reception. Even when I have 4G it still took awhile to get some things.
Doesn't work. Loads forever when everything else works fine. Never been able to load videos or gifs either. Shite app.
Ever since the new update, no matter where I click it keeps loading forever...so annoying! And my internet connection is fine btw.
