The Buzz:
The youth-baiting romantic drama being referred to as The Fault in Our Mars once made its home at the crumbling studio Relativity Media, but STX Entertainment saved it from potentially gathering dust and buffed it up to resemble tentpole filmmaking even though it sports a modest budget. It could serve as solid counter-programming on a busy weekend at the box office, and if the movie can stick around for a few weeks it stands a chance of being credited as a success.
Rings (2017)- Drama | Horror
A young woman finds herself on the receiving end of a terrifying curse that threatens to take her life in 7 days.

The Buzz:
15 years after Gore Verbinski helmed The Ring and helped kickstart a J-Horror remake craze comes this second sequel that looks to also function as a reboot for the generation who probably watched the first two movies online. Pair this TV star cast and the high probability of movie-goers looking for real-world distractions and vengeance-seeking spirits just might rule the box office once again, though two hurdles are in place in the form of Split's enduring success and Super Bowl LI looming over the weekend.
Journey to the West: The Demons Strike Back (2017)- Adventure | Comedy | Fantasy
A monk and his three disciples continue on their journey to battle demons.
Director:Hark Tsui |

The Buzz: Jackie Chan's latest earned the distinction of earning the biggest first-day gross ever at the Chinese box office and the fantasy sequel has already made over $100 million at the worldwide box office. We love that Chan has, with the exception of some voice-role work, pressed pause on his Hollywood career.

The Buzz: As a young aspiring writer growing up in Missouri, James Baldwin's writing gave me a new perspective of a world far beyond my reach and made me dare to think I could be an artist. Though I was quite familiar with his work, I did not know about his political activism after he returned to the United States in 1957. I have been waiting impatiently to see this award-winning documentary to learn more about Baldwin and hear his final writings from his unfinished novel, Remember this House. And with the current social climate, this film feels more important than ever. - Michelle
The Comedian (2016) - [Limited]- Comedy
A look at the life of an aging insult comic named Jack Burke.
Director:Taylor Hackford |

The Buzz: From the thought of Robert De Niro in custom-fit role to the supporting cast, all the components are here for a potential sleeper hit, but this comedy from Taylor Hackford has received some of the most brutal reviews this side of Monster Trucks, another one of this week's releases. It's a De Niro passion project that was guided by the hands of serious Hollywood vets, but it seems a barrage of crass jokes undermines fine acting and direction.
