We have an airdate for the musical episodes of The CW’s “The Flash” and “Supergirl”: The tuneful crossover will begin at the end of the Mar. 20 episode of “Supergirl,” but the main vocal action will take place in the Mar. 21 episode of “The Flash.”

‘House of Cards’ Season 5 Gets Premiere Date, Teaser

19 hours ago | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

While the eyes of the country are on Washington, D.C., for the presidential inauguration, “House of Cards” announced the date for yet another transition of power: the premiere of Season 5.

With a post on Twitter, the Netflix drama revealed that the DC-set drama will return May 30. The date was revealed at the end of a somber recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance — and the ominous message “We make the terror.” Netflix has also released the same teaser on YouTube, which you can watch above.

House of Cards (@HouseofCards) January 20, 2017

The line is a recall of the quote from the season finale, when president Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) said, “We don’t submit to terror. We make the terror.”  His wife, Claire (Robin Wright), subsequently broke the fourth wall for the first time. The two have been each other’s strongest allies, but »

‘Black-ish’ Spinoff in the Works at ABC

19 January 2017 7:45 PM, PST | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

The Johnson family may soon be taking up more airtime on ABC.

The network is considering a spin-off of its hit comedy “Black-ish,” Variety has confirmed. The spin-off, which would star Yara Shahidi, would focus on her character, oldest daughter Zoey Johnson, in college. The spinoff, which is in very early stages, would be introduced as a backdoor pilot this spring. Sources stress that this is early development and nothing has been officially ordered yet.

The series is being developed by “Black-ish” creator Kenya Barris. For Barris, the development marks yet another project on the mega-producer’s resume. The “Black-ish” creator is looking toward a fruitful 2017-2018 television season, as he has two more hot projects in the works at ABC. Aside from this spinoff, he’s already nabbed an early pilot order for a new comedy, “Libby & Malcolm,” starring Felicity Huffman and Courtney B. Vance, plus has an action dramedy starring Toni Collete in contention at »

Hawaii Five-0 Review: Sacred Land

If there were ever a time for a lesson in respect and diplomacy, this would be it. Hawaii Five-0 takes that lesson very personally as one of the last states which created the United States. Just because Hawaii is apart of the United States, doesn’t mean all of its islands and lands fall under its sovereignty. Protecting both lands requires mutual respect and cooperation. The stakes only get higher when chasing a murder suspect. Running around all over different parts of the island chasing murder suspects requires a lot of driving. 7 years of high speed car chases, the first

Sleepy Hollow: Headless Horseman in D.C. and Ichabod Comes Clean.

I have said, via social media, that it would be great if Sleepy Hollow could get back to its Season One glory. Tonight’s episode shows that it’s on the right track. Though with thirteen episodes (according to Wikipedia), it’s hard to tell whether it will withstand the test of time. Aside from that, let’s get on with the review, shall we? The hour began with Ichabod going apartment hunting. The place doesn’t seem to live up to the newspaper listing, but nothing ever is. Ichabod ended up taking the apartment after Jake said that the rent is cheaper than the

Chicago P.D. Review: The Present Day Complications of Church and State

Disputes between church and state date back to before humans could legibly write. Wars have waged across different religions in different countries in different centuries. One steadfast rule has been in place for hundreds of years because of the violence-Sanctuary. It’s not always upheld, but it still exists for a reason. Churches are safe havens for those who have nowhere else to go, though it is at the discretion of its priests. In the case Chicago P.D. has to deal with, there’s a fine line between saving a soul and destroying one. There also needs to be a clear divide between

Emerald City continues to exceed my expectations. This week in “Science and Magic” we met our Tin Man, and a powerful little girl. Emerald City is dark, but so fun. Several times tonight I yelled at the television. I had to look away during the scene with the little girl shaking alone in the house. I am especially interested in her and how she ties back to the original movie, The Wizard of Oz. I can’t wait to see how the writers reveal her part of the story. Dorothy and Lucas also officially began their romantic relationship, only to separate

ABC has given the green light to the pilot for Diablo Cody and Greg Berlanti’s “Raised By Wolves.” The half-hour comedy is based on the British series of the same name.

The pilot, written by Cody, centers on Sheila Gable, a single parent and one tough mother. The original U.K. series was created by Caitlin Moran and her sister Caroline and ran for two seasons on Channel 4.

The project comes from Warner Bros.-based Berlanti Prods., with Cody, Berlanti and Sarah Schecter serving as executive producers. Cody is also co-creator with Tig Notaro on Amazon’s “One Mississippi.”

This is the second pilot for Berlanti at ABC; the first, “Deception,” was ordered Thursday. But while “Deception” is a drama and the company also has the considered-a-sure-thing “Black Lightning” in the works, Berlanti »
