From TV Star to Executive: Mary Tyler Moore’s Most Iconic Moments

Mary Tyler Moore never set out to be one of the pioneers of television, but with her warmth and comedic chops, she cemented a legacy for generations of fans thanks to her groundbreaking work in the medium, both onscreen and behind the camera. Moore died on Wednesday from a cardiopulmonary arrest after contracting pneumonia, her publicist confirmed to Et. She was 80.
Moore first rose to prominence on The Dick Van Dyke Show, playing the slightly daffy wife to Van Dyke’s TV writer character from 1961-66. She then branched out on her own with The Mary Tyler Moore Show, on which she became a feminist icon as a single, working woman. During the show’s run, from 1970 to 1977, she was nominated for the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series every year and won a total of three awards.

Actor Shia Labeouf has been arrested in New York City after allegedly attacking a 25-year-old male at a protest, a spokesperson for the NYPD confirms to Et.

The protest was taking place in front of the Museum of Moving Image in Queens, NY, and Labeouf had been live streaming the “He Will Not Divide Us” protest using a webcam.
According to the NYPD, “Shia took umbrage with this individual for whatever reason, pulling the scarf that was around his head and neck area and in the course of doing so, scratched his face. Shia also pushed this individual. This individual sustained visible injuries, scratches to his face.”
The unidentified male refused medical treatment and was not taken to the hospital, but Labeouf was taken into custody for his alleged actions.

'Celebgate' Hacker Sentenced to 9 Months in Prison

Chicago — A federal judge railed against anonymous “intrusion into the affairs of people’s private lives” as he handed a Chicago man a nine-month prison sentence Tuesday for his role in a Hollywood hacking scandal that exposed nude photographs of dozens of A-list celebrities, reports CBS Chicago.
Edward J. Majerczyk, 29, admitted last fall that he hacked into the Apple iCloud and Gmail accounts of more than 300 people, including at least 30 celebrities. In addition to his prison sentence, the judge ordered him to pay $5,700 to an unnamed victim of the hack who had spent $11,400 on counseling.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Rajnath Laud suggested Majerczyk pay half of that victim’s bill because there is no evidence that Majerczyk, the son of two retired Chicago cops, put the victims’ photographs online. Bob Newhart is opening up about his memories of the late Mary Tyler Moore and how the pioneering actress changed the television landscape forever.
"She was a great comedic actress," the sitcom icon shared while sitting down with Et's Nischelle Turner at his home in Los Angeles on Wednesday, where he reflected on the many ways Moore's beloved 1970s sitcom, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, was unlike anything audiences had seen before.
"I remember there was one scene, it was Nanette Fabray, [who played] Mary's mother, and my father-in-law Bill [Quinn] played her father," Newhart recounted. "Nanette turned around and said to the two of them, 'Don't forget your pill.' And Bill said, ‘I won't,' and Mary said, 'I won't' and it was like, 'Whoa! Why would she be taking a pill?' It was really groundbreaking."

The Dancing With the Stars champ, 18, shared a photo of herself with a furry koala on Wednesday in celebration of her country's official national holiday.
