Jon Hamm will become the first actor to be turned into a lifelike 3D hologram for virtual and augmented reality at the Sundance Film Festival.
The Mad Men star, who plays a hologram named Walter Prime in the Sundance movie Marjorie Prime, is getting the anthropomorphizing treatment from 8i, a New Zealand- and Los Angeles-based tech company and hologram pioneer. The Hamm hologram will make its first appearance at the Passage Pictures film's premiere afterparty on Jan. 23.

Jennifer Aniston is no stranger to the Sundance Film Festival, having trekked to Park City for the premieres of 2002’s “The Good Girl” and 2006’s “Friends With Money.” This year, she plays a supporting role in the drama “The Yellow Birds,” as the mother of a young man (Tye Sheridan) who enlists in the Iraq War.
“It’s a poetic story,” says Aniston, who’s also an executive producer on the project, directed by Alexandre Moors, with a cast that includes Toni Collette and Alden Ehrenreich as another soldier. “It’s heartbreaking — these families every single day not knowing if their kids are going to come home.” Ahead of its Saturday premiere, Aniston spoke to Variety about the film, why she’s open to returning to TV, and what inspired her recent essay about tabloid culture.

Priyanka Chopra isn't letting an on-set injury hold her back!

The annual trek to Park City, Utah has already begun for the 2017 Sundance Film Festival, which runs Jan. 19 until Jan. 29. Peter Dinklage, Larry Wilmore, and Gael Garcia Bernal are among those named to the juries in this year’s competition. The awards will be handed out on Jan. 28 in a ceremony hosted by “The Daily Show” alum Jessica Williams.
In between all of the prizes and premieres, stars and film aficionados endure the cold temperatures with help from the city’s pop-up party scene, featuring swag, drinks and exclusive dinners.

Cuba Gooding Jr. is ready to officially end his marriage.
The 49-year-old actor has responded to wife Sara Kapfer's 2014 separation docs with a divorce petition, according to TMZ.

Gooding is asking for legal and physical custody of their 10-year-old daughter, Piper. The couple also shares two sons, Spencer and Mason, who are no longer minors.
According to the court docs, the People v. O.J. Simpson star is willing to pay Kapfer spousal support but wants all of his earnings since the pair separated to remain his own.
Gooding and Kapfer were high school sweethearts, marrying in 1994.

Cuba Gooding Jr. has filed for divorce from his wife Sara Kapfer, according to TMZ.
The filing comes nearly three years after Kapfer filed for legal separation from Gooding Jr. in April 2014 citing irreconcilable differences. In the 2014 documents, Kapfer sought joint legal and physical custody of their two minor children (at the time) and also requested spousal support.
According to TMZ, the American Crime Story actor is asking for joint legal custody and physical custody of their daughter — Piper, 10 — and is willing to pay spousal support. He is also requesting that he keep all of his earnings from the date Kapfer filed for separation. »

The weekend premiere for A Dog’s Purpose has been canceled following the release of a controversial video depicting an animal trainer forcing one of the film’s animals into turbulent waters.
In a statement obtained by People, Amblin Entertainment and Universal Pictures stated they did not “want anything to overshadow this film that celebrates the relationship between animals and humans.”
“Because Amblin’s review into the edited video released yesterday is still ongoing, distributor Universal Pictures has decided it is in the best interest of A Dog’S Purpose to cancel this weekend’s premiere and press junket,” the statement reads. »
