We also have a network of Data Specialists who can provide training throughout the nation – these webinars require registration. - Video Tutorials – We have a growing number in our Training Resources Library.
- Classroom Training – We do this when distance and staff resources allow. Often, as an alternative to a classroom training, we can schedule a webinar for you on the topic you’re interested in!

Description: The American Community Survey (ACS) Public Use Microdata Sample (PUMS) files show untabulated population and housing unit records with individual response information. For example, they show how respondents answered questions on educational attainment, occupation, place of work, housing value, and so forth. In this webinar, we will discuss foundational aspects of working with the ACS PUMS files, including the organization of the files, the confidentiality of the files, accessing the data, geographic availability, and the PUMS documentation.

Description: Margins of error (MOE) are provided for every American Community Survey (ACS) estimate. In this webinar, we will explain MOEs, and why they are important. The webinar also will cover how to use MOEs for statistical testing, a demonstration of the statistical testing tool, how to approximate the MOE for an estimate, information on the variance replicate tables, and how to locate online resources for further information.

Description: Join us during National Hurricane Preparedness Week to learn how to plan and respond to emergencies using Census Bureau data. In this session, you will learn how to access statistics for custom geographies using free online data tools: OnTheMap for Emergency Management, OnTheMap, and American FactFinder. Our data allow you to analyze an area’s potential:
- Physical vulnerability (e.g. year housing structures were built, mobile homes, etc.)
- Economic vulnerability (e.g. total workers, industry sectors, earnings, etc.)
- Social vulnerability (e.g. disability status, age, vehicle access, etc.)
