Alec Baldwin was notably absent this past weekend on Saturday Night Live, but he won't be gone for long.

It’s official: Woody Harrelson is joining “Star Wars.”
The actor confirmed Variety‘s story from earlier this month that reported he’ll be in the upcoming Han Solo spinoff during an interview at the Variety Studio presented by Orville Redenbacher at the Sundance Film Festival.
Asked by Variety if he would be playing Han Solo’s mentor in the spinoff, Harrelson responded, “Yeah, I am.”
On Jan. 3, Variety reported that Harrelson was the top choice to play the mentor to Alden Ehrenreich’s young Han Solo. At the time, however, talks were still in early stages. Harrelson is at Sundance to promote his new movie “Wilson,” which also stars Laura Dern.

Animal activists in Vadodara, India, came across a surprising sight on Tuesday.
The rescuers arrived at a well, reportedly 80 feet deep, to save four puppies stuck inside. They soon found the dogs already had a protector in the form of a rock python.
The large snake was coiled up by the puppies, and it appeared to be protecting the babies, who were anxious after being stuck in the well for four days.

Washington (AP) — President Donald Trump is reinstating a ban on providing federal money to international groups that perform abortions or provide information on the option.
The regulation has been something of a political football, instituted by Republican administrations and rescinded by Democratic ones since 1984.
Most recently, President Barack Obama ended the ban in 2009.
Trump signed it one day after the Jan. 22 anniversary of the Supreme Court’s 1973 Roe vs. Wade decision that legalized abortion in the United States, the date which is traditionally when presidents take action on the policy.

John Legend has revealed that a paparazzi called him a “monkey,” and discussed the incident at length during a sit-down with Variety at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival.
The alleged scene took place at New York City’s John F. Kennedy airport last Thursday. Legend’s wife, television personality, model, cookbook author and Twitter boss Chrissy Teigen, 31, was also present and tweeted about the troubling exchange a short time later.

The highly anticipated Star Wars followup to The Force Awakens got its official title and release date on Monday, announced via the franchise's website.
"We have the greatest fans in this or any other galaxy," the announcement read. "In appreciation of the fans, we wanted them to be the first to know the title of the next chapter in the Skywalker saga: Star Wars: The Last Jedi."
