Jeffrey Hiday

As director of the Office of Media Relations, Jeffrey Hiday works to ensure public awareness and understanding of RAND's work. He oversees strategic planning and daily relations with U.S. and international media.

Hiday joined RAND in 2008. Before, he was director general in the Department for External Relations at the Asian Development Bank in Manila, where he installed a new public communications policy to improve access to information about the bank's activities. He previously worked at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London as advisor to the bank's president, speechwriter, and head of media relations.

Hiday was a journalist for more than 13 years. He wrote for The Wall Street Journal in London, Dow Jones Newswires in New York and London, and the Providence Journal, and was a regular commentator for CNBC in London. He covered a host of financial and public policy issues.
