Research

Informing the current public policy debate and topics on the public agenda

RAND is committed to critical issues of particular relevance to the public policy debate. Here you can browse work aggregated by Policy Focus from across a diverse organization composed of nearly 100 active projects, programs, and centers. At RAND, we share our research publications in digital format free of charge as a public service.

Published Research

RAND disseminates the results of our work as broadly as possible to benefit the public good. The majority of publicly available research documents published since 1998 are available as free eBook downloads or hard-copy purchase. You can also search over 20,000 RAND publications dating back to 1946.

Research Programs

RAND research is conducted on a uniquely broad front for clients around the globe that include both the public and private sectors. Research and analysis is carried out by five programs that address social and economic policy issues, both in the United States and overseas; by three federally funded research and development centers (FFRDCs) that focus on U.S. national security policy issues; and by RAND Europe, an independently chartered RAND affiliate.

All RAND programs adhere to the same commitment to high-quality, rigorous analysis and objectivity that has secured RAND's reputation for excellence. Often, several RAND programs collaborate to conduct work on a specific issue or focus area.
