Action mainstays Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren are reteaming for Black Water, an action thriller from Dawn's Light Media.

Van Damme and Lundgren have appeared together before, in several of the Universal Soldier action movies, but always on the opposite ends of the flying fists and feet. In Black Water they star as onscreen allies for the first time.

The script by Chad Law centers on a deep cover operative (Van Damme) who awakens to find himself imprisoned in a CIA black site on a submarine.

Taylor Schilling to Star in Indie Comedy 'Fam-i-ly'

7 hours ago | The Hollywood Reporter - Movie News | See recent The Hollywood Reporter - Movie News news »

Taylor Schilling has closed a deal to star in the indie Fam-i-ly, the directorial debut of writer Laura Steinel, perhaps best known for her work on Amazon comedy Red Oaks.

Sue Naegle and Jeremy Garelick are producing.

The script, which was written by Steinel, centers on the relationship between an emotionally stunted aunt (Schilling) and her 13-year-old niece, who wants nothing more than to run away from home and become a juggalo. A juggalo is a term used for extreme fans of a subset of hip-hop who have developed their own social group and lingo. (Yes, it's a real thing.)

‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ Review: Razor Sharp Season 12 Premiere is Just the Start of a Bold, Brilliant Year

2 hours ago | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

Don’t call it a comeback.

“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” hasn’t seen a consistent dip in quality for longer than we can remember, but every season, it feels as though the TV world takes Mac (Rob McElhenney), Dennis (Glenn Howerton), Charlie (Charlie Day), Dee (Kaitlin Olson), and Frank (Danny DeVito) a little bit for granted. Perhaps because it comes out at the beginning of the year, seven months before the Emmy nominations hit and a good 11 months prior to the “best of the year” lists. Or maybe it’s just because it’s been on so long that people want to believe they know what’s coming. That they “get it.”

Yet the gang is as eager to disprove the notion as they are proud to embrace the purity of their characters’ perturbed nature. Like the goofy baby brother eager to join the big kids table, “Sunny »

Michael Keaton Passed on ‘Batman Forever’ Because the Script ‘Sucked’

5 hours ago | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

Tim Burton’s “Batman” was the highest-grossing movie of 1989. The sequel, “Batman Returns,” was the third-biggest film of 1992. So why did the star of the first two installments, Michael Keaton, turn down the third part of such a successful trilogy? Simple: The script “sucked.”

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter‘s “Awards Chatter” podcast, the 65-year-old actor explained why he decided to pass on the film once director Joel Schumacher took over the franchise.

“It sucked”, the actor said of the script. “The script never was great. I didn’t understand why [Schumacher] wanted to do what he wanted to do.”

According to Keaton, he attended “many meetings” to discuss the film, and was “polite up to a point about things.” However, he did not agree with the direction Schumacher wanted to take with the film. “I knew it »
