Burials in Tremseh in wake of massacre

The Tremseh massacre was the first to be confirmed by UN observers and was, at that time, the biggest atrocity perpetrated during the conflict.

Activists reported up to 200 people were killed in Tremseh, a village in the Hama region, on July 12. Our team found this video, which emerged on July 13 via an uploader known to Storyful as posting exclusively from that region. Storyful had verified video from this uploader in the past, including recent footage showing tanks on the streets of Tremseh.

Residents flee Salah al-Din, Aleppo

Sometimes we link videos that are days, even weeks apart. In this first video, from July 21, residents of Salah al-Din in Aleppo are shown fleeing their homes early on Saturday morning.

The videos are provided on the account of an Aleppo-based activist, with suggestions that they were instructed to leave by Syrian authorities.

July 28, 2012

A week later, the following video appeared.

Activist accounts showed explosions in the Salah al-Din area on July 28 and reported Syrian army tanks rolling into the neighborhood that they had urged to evacuate a week before. This corresponded with similar reports from reputable news organizations.

Heavy shelling in north-western Aleppo

On the same day, we were monitoring footage depicting heavy shelling as state security forces reportedly closed in on the region after the city and surrounding area endured serious violence and fighting in previous days. The video is identified as being recorded near Kurd-Dagh, sometimes referred to as Kurd Mountain, an area to the north-west of Aleppo.

The video links to the Facebook page of an activist group based in the area. Reverse searches show no earlier instances of this video available.
