Ads & Videos You Don't Want

I like this app, the content is superb, though it's seen better days due to recent technical shortcomings.

I understand ads keep things going but there are too many of them, their durations are too long, and it's the same ones over and over. I ignore them more than those with a skipping optional available in other media!

My solution to this? Create a way so subscribers can sign in to avoid these ads altogether. Subscribers sustain the Journal and it's unfair we get treated the same as those don't pay anything at all.

There are plenty of non-subscribers out there who will (and should) continue to pay with their time watching ads.

Another problem: it's difficult to pick a certain video as the options almost instantly disappear when you select a category. Such a jumpy UI makes this app unusable, frankly. This must be a bug because previous versions never had such an issue. Hopefully, the developers will correct the hiccup in the next update.

Here come the ads

This app was at one time very useful and enjoyable, even more so on those busy mornings running around the house. Much easier to listen to the news if there just isn't time to sit down and read the WSJ. Unfortunately, the addition of ads to this app has totally ruined it. They are excessive and long (a 30 second ad between each story). Keep in mind that the average WSJ Live video is only about a minute or two long. As a WSJ subscriber there should be some type of option to input my account information to avoid this mess. Love the WSJ but this app blows.

Ruined the App

The recent reintroduction of ads has ruined this app. I don't mind ads (much) because I know that they pay for the service. But the are too long and the hang up the app. The ad starts and then it counts down to where you are supposed to be able to skip the ad and the app hangs up for the length of time that the would normally play and then continues the ad to end. That's if you're lucky. If not the app just hangs up an iPhone 5 with the latest iOS.

If this isn't fixed I'm deleting the app and I'm a subscriber to both the Journal and Barron's!
