Just after 12pm EST on April 6th, a US Navy training jet crashed into an apartment building in Virginia Beach. The Storyful editorial team worked to quickly discover and validate video footage taken on the scene before emergency services arrived.

It is often difficult to contact people via Facebook emails, so Joe searched for the person’s email using their name and work information available on her Facebook page.
She replies and says that she didn’t film the video, it was filmed by her boss, but didn’t have a facebook page, so she uploaded it on her page. We always need to confirm information from the person who films content, so we tracked down her boss who gave permission for the video to be used by news organisations.
