Set in a world like ours but entirely inhabited by animals, Buster Moon a dapper koala who presides over a once-grand theater that has fallen on hard times. Buster is an eternal-some might even say delusional-optimist who loves his theater above all and will do anything to preserve it. Now faced with the crumbling of his life's ambition, he has one final chance to restore his fading jewel to its former glory by producing the world's greatest singing competition.
There is no main protagonist that is why character development were crammed together while interweaving a mediocre story which is not particularly an issue for me because the message was presented clearly. Taking away the essence of a contest didn't stop the criticized host and his contestants from finishing what they started. Without the presence of fierce competition and malice towards each other the contestants wowed their passionate audience. For a change a musical that's not about winning but simply performing. This is a dream scenario for every singer/performer out there.
If you like Rosita the pig in trailers wait 'til you see her performance with Gunter.
But once again the main antagonists are the critics, proving they have the worst job in the world. We gotta accept the fact that we can't depend animations only on Disney & Pixar, it is a mistake to anticipate every character to have the same 'corkiness' of Anna, Moana & Judy Hopps which lately have been too common for Disney, characters that utters "Wait, What?" lines that's seriously is getting old.
People who dumped this movie are just perfectionists and hard to please or that they work for another record label.
