Awful required update

Even with the latest update, notifications are still broken. What good is having a messaging app when it can't alert you that you have a new message?

This new required update is awful. I use the app mainly to be alerted to messages sent by friends. However, the app no longer beeps unless a: my device is unlocked and b: Smartglass is running, which means if I turn off my screen to save power, I won't know I have received a new message unless I am staring at a blank screen. Previous versions allowed beeping/vibration with the app closed and my device locked.

The worst part is that I was fine using an older version until it said I had to update to continue using the app. The older app versions still alert me to incoming messages, so now I need two devices to use this app - One to alert me if new messages and the second to respond using the "new and improved" (yet totally broken) app.

Would be 5 stars if recent players/recently met actually updated on the app

I love this app. Mainly I use it for messaging since you can type a lot faster with your phone than the controller. Can also control the Xbox/tv with it and watch videos and such. The only thing I don't like about it is that it seems recent players doesn't get updated anymore on this app. It worked before the latest update and now it doesn't so now when playing a game I'm always having to back out to the home screen and check it and then use the app to message. (Play a lot of dark souls and I like to message a lot of players o don't know) other than that little issue I highly recommend it!

Good app, but can't connect to my console that has a wired connection

I realized during an experiment that you can only connect your console if the device that you're using and the console is using the same wi-fi network. I tried connecting the console that had a wired connection and it doesn't work. If I were to give feedback, you should be able to connect to your console via Smartglass, even if it has a wired connection. Otherwise, the app is really good, especially that you can purchase stuff in the phone instead of doing it on the console.
