The Voice Top 20 Performance Recap: Who Survived the Brutal Eliminations?

7 hours ago | TVLine.com | See recent TVLine.com news »

I will not use the words “rigged” and “election” in the same sentence this week — Gack! Just Did! — but nevertheless, I suspect history won’t look too kindly on The Voice‘s “historic” decision to use real-time voting (and same-night eliminations) for Season 11 Top 20 performance night.

Election Day is upon us, so we’re looking back at the people who’ve shaped what’s certain to go down in history as one of America’s craziest presidential races.

Election Day is almost upon us—can you believe it? We've watched on as Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump campaigned their way across the nation, each asking voters to elect them to be the next President of the United States. As the news cycle continues to narrow in on this historic race for the White House, Saturday Night Live is continuing tradition and doing what they do best: Spoofing politics and the parties involved—live from New York, of course.  Kate McKinnon's Clinton and Alec Baldwin's Trump have satirically duked it out in sketch after sketch. Most recently, the comical duo broke character during SNL's cold open. "I'm sorry, Kate," said »

The first female U.S. attorney general has died.

Janet Reno’s goddaughter, Gabrielle D’Alemberte, told CBS News the 78-year-old trailblazer passed away early Monday from complications of Parkinson’s disease. Reno’s niece, Daphne Webb, confirmed to CBS News that Reno died peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends.

President Bill Clinton tapped Reno to become the government’s top lawyer in 1993. The Associated Press describes Reno as “one of the Clinton administration’s most recognizable and polarizing figures.”

By the time she took office, a crisis was already building at a compound in Waco, Texas. The Branch Davidian religious sect led by David Koresh was in a standoff with the FBI. Reno ordered agents to storm the property, saying she believed children were being abused. About 80 people died in the raid. Reno took full responsibility.

We recently reported that the Baldwin boys were having a bit of a feud over the presidential election, with Stephen and Billy arguing on Twitter about the media’s supposed liberal bias and Alec poking fun at Stephen on SNL, but they’re not the only famous (or at least famous-adjacent) people who are having trouble getting along these days. “If you’re supporting Trump, I want nothing to do with you,” De Niro reportedly told Schwarzenegger, who then tried explain his thoughts on the election. De Niro then directly asked him if he’s voting for Trump, and the ostensibly imposing action »

Come Watch As Doctor Strange Star Benedict Cumberbatch Hosts Saturday Night Live

After weeks of widespread critical acclaim, Marvel's Doctor Strange finally made its way into American theaters this past Friday and quickly became one of the biggest openers of the year, having already grossed over $85 million domestic, $325 million worldwide. The good fortune will likely continue into next week unless Denis Villeneuve's critically acclaimed sci-fi drama Arrival manages to exceed its modest projections. With Doctor Strange a certified hit, this week's installment of NBC's long-running sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live entrusted the Sorcerer Supreme himself Benedict Cumberbatch with hosting duties for their final pre-Election episode. Cumberbatch unfortunately doesn't don the Cloak of Levitation or Eye of Agamotto for any funny Strange-related sketches, but he does still get into a number of other entertaining bits. Plus, the World Series Champion Chicago Cubs also drop in. Check out all of his sketches and more below:     Marvel’s Doctor Strange follows the story »
