We are looking for a software development engineer to join our core web team building for our hugely popular mobile and desktop sites. You will launch features used by millions of users and help build and develop our web platform and frameworks.

You will have the opportunity to learn and use Amazon technologies from all over the company to build amazing products, which will be used directly by fans and movie & TV industry professionals. IMDb sits at the intersection of the entertainment, media, and technology markets inside the world’s most innovative and consumer-centric company – Amazon.com. You will be part of a small team working in web and AWS technologies. It's a fun environment with an exposure to working across Amazon businesses on a global scale. You will collaborate with engineers, quality assurance, product & program management, and designers to make data driven decision that result in high quality customer features. And you'll work with people who love movies & TV (from Hitchcock to Batman Begins, from Gilmore Girls to Archer and Transparent).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or 5+ year relevant work experience
· 2+ years professional experience in software development
· Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
· Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, C++, Python, Perl, or C#

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Design and development of high-volume multi-tiered distributed software applications
· Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
· Passion for movies, TV and entertainment
· Experience with modern web technologies like JavaScript, React, and/or ES6
