John Wick’s David Leitch Will Direct Deadpool 2

THR is reporting tonight that John Wick director David Leitch has stepped in to replace Tim Miller on 20th Century Fox’s Deadpool 2. If you recall, Miller departed several weeks back, after citing creative differences which included the casting of Cable. Following him out the door was composer Junkie Xl, at which point it seemed like the film may be in trouble.

Leitch’s name cropped up around then as a potential candidate for the directing gig and now it appears as if the studio has made it official. There’s no word yet on who might replace Junkie Xl, but with a talented filmmaker now behind the camera, Fox shouldn’t have any trouble pulling the rest of the project together. The only question that remains is, will Leitch be able to flex his creative muscles on the sequel, or will he be a mere puppet for Ryan Reynolds? »

Scott Gimple Thinks A Walking Dead Movie Could Happen

Given that it’s probably the biggest show on cable at the moment, it’s not surprising that AMC wants to milk The Walking Dead for as long as it can. I mean, they don’t even have an ending planned for it yet, and it’s already well into its seventh season, with an eighth one having been confirmed back in October.

So, with no end in sight, and the network claiming that it could outlive us all, it’s really no surprise to hear that at some point, the property may be headed to the big screen. That’s according to showrunner Scott M. Gimple (via ComicBook.com), who revealed that the question has come up several times now and that he’s “sure one way or another, one day, it’ll happen.”

These Walking Dead Synopses May Tease Some Big Spoilers

The Walking Dead Season 7 Gallery 1 of 56

Click to skip More From The Web

The seventh season of AMC’s The Walking Dead continues this Sunday with its fifth episode, “Go Getters,” which will keep the action in Alexandria while Rick and co. try to figure out the best way to deal with The Saviors. To whet our appetite for what comes after though, the network has released synopses for the following three installments, and piecing together these tidbits with what we know goes down in the comics may just signpost some pretty major spoilers.

Episode 6 is titled “Swear,” and in it  “someone stumbles upon a brand new society, and this society is unlike anything seen before.” The only characters that are currently on the road are Tara and Heath (remember them?), so chances are they’ll be the ones that find this new society, which many fans believe will turn »

Game Of Thrones Star Emilia Clarke Joins Han Solo Spinoff Film

Disney has announced tonight that Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke has joined their upcoming Han Solo spinoff in an undisclosed role. She’ll star alongside Donald Glover, who’ll be playing a young Lando Calrissian, and Alden Ehrenreich, who will slip into the iconic part of the titular smuggler himself.

Aside from those casting bits, the project is still very much shrouded in secrecy. Some plot rumors have pointed to the film revealing how Lando initially lost the Millennium Falcon to Han, while Dp Bradford Young has teased the spinoff as being “funny, dramatic and unexpected.” Other than that, however, we’ve really got no idea as to what we can expect here or how the movie will fit into the larger Star Wars universe.

Green Lantern Will Be In Justice League

According to a report from The Wrap, Green Lantern will have a role in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, which arrives in theatres next November. Despite the fact that we know next to nothing about Warner Bros.’ Green Lantern Corps., which is set for a 2020 release, apparently the studio plans to introduce the character in the upcoming superhero team-up film – and really, it’s about time they do.

All the report says is that a “member of the Green Lantern Corps. will be seen in Justice League in a key sequence.” It doesn’t reveal which member it’ll be or the actor set to play him (though we have our own ideas on that), but it’s an extremely intriguing nugget of information nonetheless.

Back when Justice League was still set to be split into two parts, we were told that we’d be introduced to Green Lantern in the second half. »

Rebecca Hall, Kelly Macdonald And Rob Brydon In For Holmes & Watson

Of all the many variations of Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes, there are precious few that venture into comedic territory. Sure, Guy Ritchie’s gritty reboot is riddled with snarky one-liners, imbued with Robert Downey Jr.’s at-times-effortless charisma, but one adaptation that will take the titular sleuth in a relatively new direction is Holmes & Watson.

Headed up by long-time comedy partners Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly (Step Brothers, Talladega Nights), Deadline is reporting that the feature film has now filled out its supporting cast with Rob Brydon (Inspector Lestrade), Kelly Macdonald (Mrs. Hudson) and Rebecca Hall (Dr. Grace Hart). Earlier in the week, Lauren Lapkus climbed aboard to play Millie, a sharp-as-nails thesp with a connection to Holmes himself.

With no mention of a production start, there’s little-to-no story details available for Holmes & Watson, only that it will adopt a slightly more light-hearted tone than previous incarnations. »

The Inhumans: Vin Diesel Unlikely To Play Black Bolt Following Shift To TV

Those holding out hope for Vin Diesel to take up the mantle of Black Bolt in Marvel’s The Inhumans were dealt a blow when the studio announced plans to repackage the gestating project into an eight-part TV series on ABC. Neither Diesel nor Marvel have announced anything official, of course, but if chances were slim before, you’d have to assume said deal is now hanging by a thread.

James Gunn echoed that thought process while soliciting questions during a Facebook Q&A (via Comic Book.com), stating in no uncertain terms that Vin Diesel’s interest in the project has likely waned now that The Inhumans will be brought to life as an ABC series, as opposed to a full-blown feature film as originally intended.

Per Facebook: “The Inhumans is going to be a TV show,” Gunn told a fan during a Q&A on Facebook this week. »

First DC TV Four-Way Crossover Clip Debuts Along With New Images

Not content to whet our appetites with mere synopses, The CW has now spoiled us with the first full clip from the gigantic DC TV crossover that’s set to include Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Truth be told, we thought it impossible to be any more hyped for this event, but now, we’ve found ourselves to be wrong on that front.

The footage above shows The Flash introducing Supergirl to the rest of his cohorts from the Arrowverse. Unimpressed, Jax poses the question, “What makes her so super?” Letting actions speak louder than words, Kara shows off her gravity defying skills and then proceeds to leave her calling card with her heat vision. Needless to say, that’s how you make a first impression, and we all should be taking notes.

Live-Action Winnie The Pooh Movie Locates Director

Add Winnie the Pooh to Hollywood’s jam-packed list of CG animations in line for the live-action treatment. Falling in line behind Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Mulan, Snow White, The Lion King and many, many more, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Marc Forster has agreed terms to helm Christopher Robin, Disney’s fantasy drama designed to follow the human character of Pooh’s lush world.

Given the barnstorming success of The Jungle Book galvanized this new wave of live-action remakes, it’s not too surprising to hear that the Mouse House has elected Brigham Taylor, producer on Jon Favreau‘s lucrative hit, to produce. Alex Ross Perry, meanwhile, will pen the script.

Not to be confused with Fox Searchlight’s Untitled A.A. Milne Project, Christopher Robin follows the titular boy who befriends the iconic, honey-loving bear. Sources close to THR claim that Disney has cited Seth MacFarlane’s »

Bruno Mars – 24k Magic Review

There’s no question that Bruno Mars is one of the cockiest people in music. His new album, 24k Magic, will surely go down as one of the cockiest albums of the year – hell, maybe even of all-time. Mars is a guy who can get away with being absent from releasing new material for four years, only to come back somehow bigger and better than ever and survive the incredible pressure of following up a song that got certified Diamond.

If you know Mars’ persona and the way he goes about things, you can imagine that he lives for moments like these – the times where he’s the center of the attention and all eyes are on everything he does. Mars is the only guy who can release what is perhaps the most important album of his career and only put nine songs on it, because that’s who he is, »

Stranger Things Season 2 Casts Brett Gelman As Hawkins Conspiracy Nut

Now that much of the original cast are locked in to return – Millie Bobby Brown included – Stranger Things has been steadily expanding its ranks in anticipation of season 2 in 2017.

First, there was the two-fold addition of Sadie Sink and soon-to-be Power Rangers star Dacre Montgomery, before Sean Astin, Paul Reiser and Linnea Berthelsen booked their respective tickets to Hawkins, Indiana. The casting spree doesn’t end there, though, now that The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed actor-comedian Brett Gelman is in line to play Murray Bauman, a “disgraced journalist-turned-conspiracy theorist who is investigating a cold case in Hawkins.” Perhaps it involves the nefarious Department of Energy?

Series creators Matt and Ross Duffer have so far remained tight-lipped about Stranger Things season 2 – and rightfully so – though we understand that the nine-episode season will take place in 1984, a full year after the events of the Upside Down and that pesky Demogorgon. One story »

DC TV Roundup: Poison Ivy Returns In Gotham And Savitar Debuts On The Flash

While Marvel and DC battle to see who wins at the box office, it’s virtually inarguable that it’s the latter who dominates the small screen. Now having taken over four nights of the week when it comes to prime time programming, serialized superhero storytelling has swiftly become a cornerstone in the lives of many a geek these days.

And who could blame any of us? Twenty-some episodes afford more character development and make room for introductions of heroes and villains that you would never be able to see in a two-hour movie. Multiply those possibilities due to a handful of these shows now existing and we’re being treated to a Golden Age of Superhero TV that we hope doesn’t end any time soon.

Given that, we’ve started this new column to countdown the most memorable moments in DC TV each week, analyzing all the unforgettable developments to occur on Gotham, »

Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them Gallery 1 of 53

November 18 will be a day long remembered by Potterheads as the moment when Warner’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them roared into theaters, opening up a whole new chapter of witchcraft and wizardry in the process.

Having mapped out plans for five feature films, to say that WB has been bullish in its forecast may read as something of an understatement, but at least based on early box office figures coupled with the first wave of reviews, Fantastic Beasts is off to a commendable start. And though it’s far too early to devote much attention to the planned 2018 sequel, lead star Eddie Redmayne has revealed how Warner Bros. plans to work around the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them moniker with future installments; by taking a leaf out of Harry Potter‘s book. »

Britney Spears Unveils “Slumber Party” Video With Tinashe

Days after debuting the newly remixed version of “Slumber Party” featuring singer Tinashe, Britney Spears drops the music video to accompanying the chilled-out pop track.

As you can probably guess, the “Slumber Party” clip basically has everything in it besides actual sleeping. Directed by Colin Tilley, there’s nothing but energy from the start as the girls roll up to a party at a mansion, and things naturally get sexier as the night goes on. With minimal clothing on and inside smoke filled rooms, Spears and Tinashe bust out their best dance moves in a style that we haven’t seen from the pop star since the early 2000’s.

Britney Spears kicks off the weekend right with the “Slumber Party” music video, but that isn’t really a surprise considering how great the music video for her first Glory single, “Make Me…” was. Hopefully more videos for tracks off Glory »

Nghtmre Takes On Slander With “Dead” Remix

Get ready to have your face blasted off with a new high octane trap remix from Nghtmre. The bass heavy producer is taking on La duo Slander with a remix off their monster of a single “Dead,” taken from 2015’s Duality Ep. The new remix follows up on some massive releases from Nghtmre, including his recent Zeds Dead collaboration “Frontlines” and his explosive pair up with Dillon Francis on “Need You.”

Over the span of three minutes, Nghtmre crafts an absolute banger from the remains of “Dead.” The new remix kicks off with a deceptively mellow intro, with some plodding piano chords set against spiraling melodies and chopped up vocal samples. As percussion elements push the energy upward, the speakers are filled with mind bending electronics that lead into the drop. Whining leads extend over booming 808 beats, creating an intense rhythm that is bound to send the festival crowds into a frenzy. »

Moana Review

Now – more then ever – maturing young girls need positive female heroes to idolize, and with that perspective in mind, Moana summons an epic adventure primed to bolster the independent pride of future “nasty women” everywhere. This should come as no shock – Disney has been nurturing strong-willed princesses since cartoons were invented (figure of speech) – but Moana‘s importance shouldn’t be shrugged off (nor is she a princess, she’d remark).

Lin-Manuel Miranda brings island spirit to drum-beating musical numbers that herald the exuberance of life’s unexpected journeys, pushing young minds and hearts to follow passion, not practicality. Audiences of all genders have yet another animated Disney dazzler to embrace here, but Moana speaks specifically to a gender that faces preconceived barriers, and with enough strength to break them down.

Childish Gambino Debuts “Redbone” From New Album

The initial shock of Childish Gambino’s new music is now over and it’s time to just simply enjoy the reality. Though the artist spent most of his career rapping and diving into R&B, the tracks that he’s debuted off his upcoming record, Awaken, My Love!, has flipped expectations on their head; it isn’t rap – it’s barely even hip-hop.

Gambino, a.k.a. Donald Glover, a.k.a. future Star Wars star, released his Funkadelic-inspired single, “Me and Your Mama,” the other week, and it was far and away the most interesting and expansive thing he’s ever done. Today, we get what acts as the lead single from the record, “Redbone,” and it does an excellent job showing off his vision just a bit more.

With a runtime of nearly five and a half minutes, “Redbone” shakes things up by offering vocals that most »

Zhu Drops Two New Generationwhy Remixes By Big Wild & Leon Lour

Following up on the gripping short film that serves as a companion to his debut album Generationwhy, Zhu is back today to offer up two new remixes for the record’s title track. The Grammy-nominated producer has enlisted Big Wild and Leon Lour for the remixing duties, and both acts offer up worthy re-imaginings of the ever catchy “Generationwhy.”

First up is Big Wild’s remix, a jaunty house number complete with rubbery synth stabs and disco flavored drum patterns set against a barrage of repeated samples from the original song. The lyrical content has largely been discarded in favor of a more instrumental sound, with various elements from Zhu’s production being ripped from the source material and taken in a wholly different direction.

Contrasting Big Wild’s remix, Leon Lour offers up an upbeat flip with a light tropical sound. Hand percussion and echoed bells kick the tune off, »
