The first trailer has arrived online for writer-director Christopher Smith’s upcoming psychological thriller Detour along with a new poster featuring stars Tye Sheridan, Bel Powley and Emory Cohen; check them out below…

“Harper (Tye Sheridan), a seemingly naive law student, obsesses over the idea that his shifty stepfather was involved in the devastating car crash that left his mother hospitalized and comatose. He drowns his suspicions in whiskey until he finds himself suddenly engrossed in conversation with volatile grifter Johnny (Emory Cohen) and his stripper companion, Cherry (Bel Powley). As daylight breaks and the haziness of promises made becomes clearer, how will Harper handle the repercussions (not to mention the violent duo—on his doorstep)? Employing a split-narrative structure to tell this tale of deception and murder, Christopher Smith takes his audience on a thrill ride full of hairpin turns, where it’s never quite clear what or who can be trusted. »

Rumour: Justice League will feature a member of the Green Lantern Corps

When Zack Snyder assembles the Justice League next year, he’ll do so without one of the superhero team’s most integral members, with Green Lantern absent from the line-up for the DC ensemble.

Well, if a new rumour from El Mayimbe at The Wrap is to be believed, that may not be the case after all, as the site is claiming that “a member of the Green Lantern Corps. will be seen in Justice League in a key sequence.”

Now, even if this rumour proves true, it doesn’t necessarily mean we’ll be seeing Hal Jordan (or John Stewart, or Guy Gardner, or Kyle Rayner), as it could be another character as a tease to set up for 2020’s Green Lantern Corps movie.

Then again, El Mayimbe reported on several occasions that Chris Pine was playing Hal Jordan, so it could also just as easily be more complete speculation. »

Meet Admiral Raddus, the ‘Winston Churchill’ of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Entertainment Weekly has put the spotlight on one of the new alien characters set to feature in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in Admiral Raddus, a Mon Calamari (that’s the same species as Admiral Ackbar, if the above image wasn’t enough of a clue), a high ranking member of the Rebellion inspired by the British wartime Prime Minister Winston Churchill.

“We always tried to find a real world example of who these creatures may be, and in this case we used Churchill,” said Neal Scanlan, creature effects supervisor. “Admiral Raddus is a very strong figure. We would use [Churchill] not only as visual reference for his physical features, but also when it came to performing him and expressing him through the actor. You try to look at a famous actor, or a statesperson or something like that. Someone you could use. It helps to have someone to reference in the real world. »

The Undertaker retiring at Wrestlemania 33? Ecw stars return to WWE

There are many great movie projects that have never seen the light of day. Tim Burton’s Superman Lives. Stanley Kubrick’s Napoleon. Tarkovsky’s The Idiot. And now, unfortunately, we can add another one…to the list!

Chris Jericho revealed in his recent interview with Live Audio Wrestling that he has pitched a buddy cop movie for WWE Studios with him and Kevin Owens. They came up with the idea after Vince McMahon really liked their chemistry together, but sadly it isn’t happening. Because WWE Studios already have brilliant projects such as Incarnate with Mark Henry, Temple with Seth Rollins, and The Marine 5: Battleground with The Miz, Maryse, Heath Slater, Curtis Axel, Bo Dallas and Naomi.

Another gimmick that might be close to jumping the shark is Chin McMahon himself, James Ellsworth.

Ellsworth has posted on his Facebook page that he is “no longer taking anymore independent wrestling bookings, »

Who will win at WWE Survivor Series? WWE 2017 ‘Big Four’ plans revealed…

It’s Survivor Series weekend – Hooray!

When was the last time we were excited about that?

Say what you will about the brand split, WWE have made Survivor Series feel like a big time event again – heavily promoting the Smackdown vs Raw bouts, putting the fate of the Intercontinental Championship and the Cruiserweight Division on the line, and bringing back Goldberg for his first match in over 12 years.

And you should get used to it, because just like the good old days, Espn are reporting WWE will be basing their pay-per-view strategy around the ‘Big Four’ again. And they’re going to be even bigger than they were originally.

The ‘Big Four’ are WWE’s classic brand name events that have been in place since the 1980s – the Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, SummerSlam and Survivor Series. The year’s other pay-per-view events were often referred to as ‘B-shows’, with memorable names such as Over the Limit, »

Holmes & Watson adds Rebecca Hall, Kelly Macdonald and more to cast

It’s been known for a few months now that Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly will appear onscreen together in starring roles for the first time since 2008’s Step Brothers for 2018’s comedic Sherlock Holmes adaptation, Holmes & Watson, but now, according to Deadline, Sony and the creative team behind the picture are beginning to round up the film’s supporting cast.

Reportedly, Rebecca Hall (Christine), Rob Brydon (The Huntsman: Winter’s War), Kelly Macdonald (Brave) and Lauren Lapkus (Jurassic World) are all set to star in the upcoming comedy, which sees Get Hard director Etan Cohen on both scripting and directing duties.

Macdonald and Brydon’s characters are straight out of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s original stories, just as Ferrell will be playing Holmes and Reilly is Watson, but Lapkus and Hall’s roles, presumably, have been made up for the movie. Macdonald has signed on to the role of Mrs. »

The Girl in the Spider’s Web will be a Dragon Tattoo sequel rather than a reboot

Back in November of last year, Sony announced that it was looking to relaunch the Millennium franchise with an adaptation of The Girl in the Spider’s Web, the fourth book in the series, written by David Lagercrantz.

The initial report said that the movie would reboot the series, following the mediocre box office returns for David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and that Fincher and stars Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig were not expected to return.

While there’s been no word on casting yet (although Alicia Vikander was linked to the role of Lisbeth Salander), we do know that Fede Alvarez (Don’t Breathe) is in talks to direct, while Steven Knight (Allied) is penning the script. And according to Knight, it’s being envisioned as a Dragon Tattoo sequel, rather than a reboot:

“With The Girl in the Spider’s Web, the girl is really the central character, »
