Exclusive: Marisa Tomei's Wild Rumpus on Stage

9 February 2017 9:18 AM, PST | Entertainment Tonight | See recent Entertainment Tonight news »

Ever since her breakout performance in 1992 as Mona Lisa Vito in My Cousin Vinny, which earned her the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress, Marisa Tomei has always made bold and interesting choices on-screen, allowing her to slip in and out of Oscar-bait indies, romantic comedies, Adam Sandler vehicles and even the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Aunt May Parker in the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming. The same can be said for the actress’ stage work, which most recently included playwright Will Eno’s Broadway debut, The Realistic Joneses, and a Williamstown Theatre Festival production of a Tennessee Williams play.

Her latest is the new play by Sarah Ruhl, How to Transcend a Happy Marriage, opening at Lincoln Center Theater on March 20, with previews starting Feb. 23. “I'd long admired Sarah Ruhl’s writing and hoped for the chance to work with her someday, and when I saw what this play was about, I was drawn even further under her spell »

How Did Marisa Tomei Win an Oscar for My Cousin Vinny?

8 February 2017 9:36 AM, PST | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

Literally about 15 minutes ago I’m scrolling through the channels of my TV and My Cousin Vinny is on.   The second it comes on I see Marisa Tomei in the middle of her routine when she asks Joe Pesci to pretend he’s a deer getting shot in the head.  I think to myself, “how in the world did Marisa Tomei win best supporting actress that year?”  I ask myself the same question about how Driving Miss Daily won best picture when it was up against Dead Poets Society, Born on the Fourth of July, Field of Dreams, and My Left

Spider-Man: Homecoming Weird Trailer Is Totally Bizarre

29 January 2017 1:53 PM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Last month, Sony Pictures finally unveiled the first Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer, which was widely well-received by fans and critics alike. Sony hasn't confirmed when the second trailer will be unveiled, but today we have a 'Weird Trailer' for the film, which brings back the first two actors to play the web-slinger, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. While this trailer is essentially the same footage, there are a lot of bizarre items edited into this footage, including Minecraft characters, Suicide Squad's Harley Quinn, Batman, Kung Fu Panda and much more.

This weird trailer is just the latest in a series from YouTuber Aldo Jones, who debuted a weird trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy back in October. That trailer was given the "seal of approval" by director James Gunn, but as of now, it isn't clear if anyone involved in Spider-Man: Homecoming has seen and/or approved of this trailer. »

First Spider-man: Homecoming Action Figures Reveal A Close-Up Look At Peter's Homemade Costume

26 January 2017 5:45 PM, PST | ComicBookMovie.com | See recent ComicBookMovie news »

Captain America: Civil War gave us only a glimpse of Spider-Man's homemade costume, but the first trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming confirmed that we'll get a closer look at it in his solo outing this July. However, an early sneak peek has found its way online today thanks to Hasbro, and as you can see, it's a very different look for the wall-crawler. In fact, it may remind you of a certain someone! We're obviously talking about Ben Reilly/Scarlet Spider, though the colour scheme is quite a bit different to the comics. There's also a few other variations of both Spider-Man and The Vulture.  Starring Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, Marisa Tomei, Robert Downey Jr., and almost countless others, Marvel's Spider-Man: Homecoming is directed by Jon Watts and will be released on July 7th, next year.   »

With Denial in cinemas this week starring the fabulous Rachel Weisz as Professor Deborah E. Lipstadt it comes as no surprise that Fox Searchlight have released the first UK poster & trailer for My Cousin Rachel starring Weisz and her co-star Sam Claflin (The Hunger Games). For anyone unsure, this is most definitely not a sequel to the 1992 movie My Cousin Vinny starring Joe PesciRalph Macchio and Marisa Tomei… as nice as that would be!

The movie is an adaptation of Daphne du Maurier’s (author of Rebecca, The Birds) acclaimed novel of the same name and is helmed by Notting Hill  / Morning Glory director Roger Michell.

Ned Leeds Plays This Important Role in Spider-Man: Homecoming

Earlier this month, a promo photo was released in conjunction with Dell debuting its Inspiron 15 gaming laptop at CES, which featured a fresh look at the Stark-built Spider-Man costume in the highly-anticipated Spider-Man: Homecoming. Tom Holland was also on hand at the CES convention, where he spoke about the upcoming superhero adventure, hitting theaters on July 7. The actor revealed during a CES presentation that this gaming laptop actually unlocks some of the new features in Spidey's tech-suit. More importantly, we learned of Ned Leeds importance in being Peter Parker's right hand man because of his gamer knowledge. Here's what Tom Holland had to say about the costume and the role Ned Leeds plays in helping get Spider-man off the ground.

Tom Holland grades Spider-Man: Homecoming suit

23 January 2017 4:34 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Superhero costumes may look awesome, but apparently are not always the most comfortable thing in the world to wear. Shortlist (via ComicBook) asked Spider-Man: Homecoming star Tom Holland to grade the web-slinging suit in terms of comfort on a scale from 1 to 10.

“A solid three,” replied Holland. “It’s not comfy but it’s the Spider-Man outfit – it’s the coolest thing ever. You look like a badass and feel like a gangster. The best thing is wearing it meeting kids – they genuinely think you have superpowers.”

Newswire: Update: A celebrity-filled anti-Trump rally is streaming on Facebook right now

19 January 2017 3:46 PM, PST | avclub.com | See recent The AV Club news »

With Donald Trump holding a pre-inauguration concert in Washington D.C. tonight that is sparsely attended by celebrities (and maybe in general), a bunch of those famous people that Trump supposedly doesn’t care about have popped up in New York City outside of the Trump International Hotel for an anti-Trump rally. According to MoveOn.org, the attendees include Sally Field, Mark Ruffalo, Rosie Perez, Alec Baldwin, Marisa Tomei, Julianne Moore, Cynthia Nixon, Natalie Merchant, Michael Moore, and Shailene Woodley. Robert De Niro was doing a slick, stand-up routine of sorts a few minutes ago, and New York Mayor Bill de Blasio just finished making a passionate plea for upholding the Affordable Care Act.

This is one of many anti-Trump events happening this week, with a number of pro-women’s rights marches scheduled across the country on Saturday.

We will soon see him in the upcoming The Founder, but Michael Keaton has been talking up a role that he will play in a big summer movie, Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Keaton will return to the world of comic book movies for the first stand alone Spider-Man movie for Sony/ Marvel Studios, and will play the villain of the piece, Vulture – or should we say Adrian Toomes.

“Not to give too much away, but interestingly, he is and he isn’t, that character,” Keaton said to Variety of The Vulture being a villain. “He’s a really interesting — and more interesting than I thought — villain because there’s parts of him that you go, ‘You know what? I might see his point.’ Really, really. It makes it interesting to play.”

Tom Holland leads the cast as the title character, while Marisa Tomei plays Aunt May and a certain Robert Downey Jr. »
