FX’s Y: The Last Man Adaptation Closing In On Collaborator For Brian K. Vaughan

13 hours ago | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Following the first reports that a television adaptation of the popular graphic novel Y: The Last Man would be coming to FX, the network this weekend confirmed that it’s circling the last potential writers to partner with Brian K. Vaughan as collaborators for the series.

Vaughan created the original graphic novel, along with artist Pia Guerra, which ran from 2002 through 2008 and detailed the adventures of Yorick Brown and his pet capuchin monkey Ampersand as they try to survive the fallout of an incident which appeared to have killed every male on the planet except them.

Speaking with IGN, FX CEO John Landgraf briefly mentioned the very early stages of the show’s current status, referring to a handful of writers and producers “who really want to participate” in the adaptation of the seminal comic series. Even though Landgraf was careful not to reveal too much regarding the secretive project, »

New 10 Cloverfield Lane poster and plot rumours emerge

17 January 2016 3:29 AM, PST | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

We all got an unexpected surprise this week with the launch of a new trailer for 10 Cloverfield Lane from Bad Robot, and people have instantly supposed this is a big follow up to 2008’s wonderful Cloverfield but… is it really?

J.J. Abrams Bad Robot are synonymous with secrets and anyone who knows J.J. will be very aware of his Mystery Box love so have we all been cleverly played already? The rumours say this isn’t a sequel at all and is, in fact, just a smart marketing move with the use of the word Cloverfield. But I’ll be honest here, I don’t think I care either way and the fact there’s so much secrecy makes me even more intrigued and eager to avoid spoilers before it opens. We’re living in a time of film where you can almost watch everything before it comes out »

'10 Cloverfield Lane' Is Not 'Cloverfield 2', But Part of an Anthology?

16 January 2016 2:25 PM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Yesterday, fans were treated to a surprise trailer for 10 Cloverfield Lane, which many have speculated is a sequel to the 2008 hit Cloverfield. There is still very little we know about the story, but since both 10 Cloverfield Lane and Cloverfield were produced by J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot, many assume there is some sort of connection between the two. Earlier today, a user cleared the air about this mysterious project, revealing that it may not be a direct sequel, but it is set in the same Cloverfield universe.

"This film was originally made under the names Valencia and The Cellar for Paramount's Insurge division (a subsidiary for films made for under 5 million dollars like The Devil Inside), and when Paramount closed it down, this movie (shot and completed) was thrown out to the wind and orphaned. Paramount bought it back up and had Daniel Casey and Damien Chazelle do some re-writes »

10 Cloverfield Lane Trailer From Dan Trachtenberg and J.J. Abrams Arrives (Updated With Poster)

16 January 2016 5:41 AM, PST | TheHDRoom | See recent TheHDRoom news »

I promise you will never think about the classic song, 'I Think We're Alone Now,' the same way again after watching the surprise trailer for Paramount and Bad Robot's 10 Cloverfield Lane.

What exactly is 10 Cloverfield Lane? Is it Cloverfield 2? Sort of, but no one outside the inner circle knows precisely the thematic connection. Executive producer J.J. Abrams has already described it as a "blood relative" of the original Cloverfield sans the shaky-cam shooting style. Whether that menacing monster appears in this new iteration is being kept under wraps.

Director Dan Trachtenberg shot this film starring John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and John Gallagher Jr. under obviously a different name to preserve its secrecy, though Trachtenberg was open on Twitter about working on a Bad Robot project. The studios and creative minds came up with the brilliant idea to keep the name and concept under wraps and unveil »

J.J. Abrams Drops Surprise 'Cloverfield' Sequel Trailer

15 January 2016 1:30 PM, PST | Moviefone | See recent Moviefone news »

Ok, music industry and your surprise albums — J.J. Abrams is answering with a surprise movie.

In the oodles of spare time he had while directing "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," Abrams apparently produced a surprise, top-secret sequel to 2008's monster smash, "Cloverfield." The follow-up is titled "10 Cloverfield Lane," and Abrams' Bad Robot production company and Paramount just unveiled the first trailer.

Starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead, John Goodman, and John Gallagher Jr., "10 Cloverfield Lane" is described by Abrams to Collider as a "blood relative" of the earlier film. The project, directed by Dan Trachtenberg, had been known as "Valencia," but its connection to "Cloverfield" comes as a complete surprise. The trailer doesn't give much away — Winstead's character is locked up in a basement/bomb shelter by a captor (Goodman) who claims to be shielding her from the dangers of the outside world.

"10 Cloverfield Lane" hits theaters March 11.

First trailer & poster for ’10 Cloverfield Lane’

15 January 2016 1:09 PM, PST | Blogomatic3000 | See recent Blogomatic3000 news »

What’s that you say? A film no one knew about releasing it’s first trailer and poster. Looks that way! Yes, the ever-prolific J.J. Abrams has seemingly not rested on his laurels post-Star Wars, producing a sequel to his found-footage hit Cloverfield – entitled 10 Cloverfield Lane.

This “sequel” (which looks to be taking place at the same time as the first film) is helmed by Dan Trachtenberg, who many will know as one of the hosts of the much-missed web series The Totally Rad Show and director of the short film Portal: No Escape. Whilst little is known about the film beyomd this trailer and poster, what we do know is that 10 Cloverfield Lane – which stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, John Goodman and John Gallagher Jr. – will be release in the UK on April 8th.

Some Theories About 10 Cloverfield Lane: Sequel, Prequel, Spin-Off, Or New Idea Altogether?

15 January 2016 10:52 AM, PST | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Last night, something magical happened to Cloverfield fans – a trailer starring John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and John Gallagher Jr. played before Michael Bay’s 13 Hours, and at the end, the title Cloverfield turned into something more: 10 Cloverfield Lane. I Know, Right?!

It’s no secret that J.J. Abrams has wanted to re-visit Cloverfield through a sequel of some sort, but after early talks, plans seemed to dissipate, J.J. became a Star Wars hero, and Clover seemed to be put on the backburner. Or, maybe that’s just what J.J. wanted us to believe…

While Abrams was busy traveling to a galaxy far, far away, his production company, Bad Robot, enlisted Dan Trachtenberg (creator of the short Portal: No Escape/no relation to my childhood crush, Michelle Trachtenberg) to direct a post-apocalyptic-ish movie titled Valencia. According to IMDb (which has changed Valencia to 10 Cloverfield Lane as of this »

'Cloverfield’ Cinematic Universe makes perfect sense if you were paying attention

15 January 2016 10:35 AM, PST | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

Spitting in the face of spoiler culture, last night Bad Robot and J.J. Abrams dropped the trailer for “10 Cloverfield Lane,” managing to pull off what might be the biggest Mystery Box™ of all time. You can head over here to read Drew McWeeny’s take on this project directed by Dan Trachtenberg. But the important takeaway is this bit: “The idea came up a long time ago during production. We wanted to make it a blood relative of Cloverfield. The idea was developed over time. We wanted to hold back the title for as long as possible.” I’ve already seen people bandying about the idea that this is the beginning of the Cloverfield Cinematic Universe. Opinions on if this is a good idea or not vary, but if you were a nerd with an Internet connection and a passing interest in “Cloverfield” in 2007 this seems like the most natural progression in the world. »

First Poster: "10 Cloverfield Lane"

15 January 2016 9:47 AM, PST | Dark Horizons | See recent Dark Horizons news »

Following in the wake of the brilliant first trailer for "10 Cloverfield Lane," the 'blood relative' to 2008's "Cloverfield," the first poster has debuted ahead of its March 11th release.

How much the film ties back to the original is still a big mystery at this point, with the connection likely to be small at best. A source for Hitfix says they attended a test screening back when the film was called "Valencia" and says it ain't a direct sequel: "If it's 'Valencia' with a new title, then it's not Cloverfield 2. Saw a preview a few months ago, and it's big twisty fun... 'Valencia' is smaller in scale and a play on Misery. At least for the first half. Heh."

The majority takes place in an underground cellar and revolves around a young woman (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) who wakes up in the cellar after a severe car »

Whoa! Trailer Drops for 10 Cloverfield Lane; “Spiritual sequel” to Original??!

15 January 2016 7:54 AM, PST | iconsoffright.com | See recent Icons of Fright news »

I’ve been patiently waiting for a followup to Matt Reeve’s 2008 found footage extravaganza, Cloverfield, and it looks like the time for said followup is now…sort of. A mysterious trailer has dropped, under the name of 10 Cloverfield Lane and thought it couldn’t seem more different than the first film, it looks to be somewhat of a “spiritual sequel”, taking place in the same universe and events as the first film. I’ve gotta say, the trailer looks pretty intense, with Mary Elizabeth Winstead being held against her will by John Goodman for her own good. Who knows if the entire USA has been eradicated following the events of the first film…

Whatever the case may be, color me excited to see 10 Cloverfield Lane when it hits theaters March 11th!!

First Trailer for Dan Trachtenberg's Mysterious '10 Cloverfield Lane'

15 January 2016 7:49 AM, PST | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

"Don't open that door!!" Paramount has debuted a mysterious new trailer for a film called 10 Cloverfield Lane, which they're marketing like it has a connection to Cloverfield. J.J. Abrams produced this movie, originally called Valencia, and claims it is a "blood-relative" of Cloverfield even though the footage lines up with exactly what we've been writing about for years. Mary Elizabeth Winstead stars as a woman who ends up locked in an underground bunker with John Goodman and one other. The rest of the story is pretty standard, as it becomes the question of, is it really that bad out there? I believe the entire Cloverfield angle is a marketing gimmick to get us all talking about the mystery of what's going on, but nothing more. Here's the first trailer for Dan Trachtenberg's 10 Cloverfield Lane, direct from Paramount's YouTube: The original description for Valencia: "The majority of the movie takes place in an underground cellar, »

J.J. Abrams' '10 Cloverfield Lane' Trailer: Is This 'Cloverfield 2'?

15 January 2016 7:47 AM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Well, this certainly is a surprise. Perhaps even a bigger surprise than the original Cloverfield trailer, which appeared out of nowhere back in 2008. Paramount decided to nonchalantly release a trailer for 10 Cloverfield Lane attached to Michael Bay's 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi. It's a thriller from producer J.J. Abrams and his Bad Robot production team, and comes from director Dan Trachtenberg. And as soon as audiences saw it appear on the big screen, they began suspected that it was the long awaited Cloverfield 2.

Though, there are some noticeable differences. 10 Cloverfield Lane has a pretty impressive cast, where the first Cloverfield movie featured mostly unknowns at the time. Lizzy Caplan and T.J. Miller have certainly gone onto bigger and better things since the original hit over eight years ago. But this film stars the well established John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and the somewhat lesser known John Gallagher Jr. »

Watch the Insane New Trailer For the Surprise Cloverfield Sequel

Fresh off rocking the world with Star Wars: The Force Awakens, J.J. Abrams is upping the ante with a surprise sequel to 2008's found-footage monster film Cloverfield with his Bad Robot production company. The sequel, officially titled 10 Cloverfield Lane, stars John Goodman and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World alum Mary Elizabeth Winstead and is directed by Dan Trachtenberg. As is the theme with all movies Abrams is involved in, official plot details are scarce, but judging from the trailer, the three main characters spend their days living in an underground bunker making puzzles, listening to classic jams, and reading magazines, which all changes when Winstead's character decides to escape to the outside world. Will she come face to face with the monster from the original? We'll have to wait and see when the movie opens on March 11. Watch the trailer above. »

Secret Bad Robot Movie Revealed as '10 Cloverfield Lane'

15 January 2016 7:22 AM, PST | LatinoReview | See recent LatinoReview news »

J.J. Abrams loves his secrets. Be it for "Super 8," "Star Trek Into Darkness," or "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," he's a filmmaker that loves the medium in the purest way possible. Well it turns out that the director/producer's production company has kept a film quite secret, and that film has now been revealed as "10 Cloverfield Lane" (It was previously being referred to as "Valencia").

Check out the trailer for the film below!

So the obvious question that comes to mind is... is this a "Cloverfield" sequel? It seems possible that it takes place in a post-alien invasion world, and that whoever John Goodman's character is is really just trying to protect these "prisoners" from the outside world created by the "Cloverfield" monsters, but it's hard to tell. For starters, the film isn't done in the found footage format that characterized the first one. While it's possible they »
