Another Gilmore Girl? Scott Patterson Says Luke and Lorelai Are 'Going to Have a Lot of Babies!'

Posted on

Luke may have said a firm “no” to Lorelai about having a baby on the Gilmore Girls revival, but if Scott Patterson has anything to say about it, the couple will eventually be parents!

Upon watching the four-part Netflix revival A Year in the Life, audiences learn that the longtime couple considers having a baby, a.k.a. “fresh kid,” via a surrogate at the beginning of the first episode (“Winter”). But after visiting Paris Gellar’s (Liza Weil) Dynasty Makers fertility and service clinic, Luke is turned off, although Lorelai is still interested in the idea.

Despite the revival ending with the couple finally tying the knot on the last episode (“Fall”), viewers are left wondering if the Luke’s Diner owner and Dragonfly Inn founder ever will have children in the future.

“[It felt] pretty good, pretty good, yeah,” Patterson, who plays Luke Danes, told Entertainment Tonight of the characters getting married. “And the way we did it was pretty clever I thought. I think it was the most personal way to do it and it had the most dramatic impact.”

“I think being married to that girl is going to be a really good thing,” Patterson said, and added, “We’re going to have a lot of babies!”

So, can fans expect to see Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Rory (Alexis Bledel), who revealed in the final four words of the series that she is expecting a child (presumably with Matt Czuchry’s Logan), both be pregnant at the same time? That, and numerous other questions, were left unanswered — and leave Gilmore Girls fans begging creator and writer Amy Sherman-Palladino for more!

Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life is now streaming on Netflix.
