Storyline

Mike Baxter is the marketing director for an iconic outdoor sporting goods store. He loves to have adventures while he's traveling for work and, of course, he drives a pick-up truck. While Mike is king of the hill at work, he's the odd man out in a home that is dominated by women -- namely his wife, Vanessa, and their three daughters, 22- year-old Kristin, 17-year-old Mandy and 14-year-old Eve. After being a stay-at-home mom for years, Vanessa recently returned to the workplace and was quickly promoted (much to the dismay of her primarily male co-workers). As a result of Vanessa's increased work load, Mike is pulled into more hands-on parenting than ever before. Written by ABC Publicity

Goofs

Outdoor Man's building is the front of a Bass Pro Shop. Based on the roof line the chain's store in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, the closest to the sound stage lot in Studio City. The signs are altered with CGI. The Rocky Mountains are superimposed behind the store to place it in Denver. Neither the Denver, nor Colorado Springs Bass Pro Shop stores have the same foliage or roof line as the shot used in the show. See more »

I love it!
7 December 2011 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Of course, it can be compared to Tim Allen's old show, but this is really fresh and Tim having to interact with girls instead of boys really puts him out of his element, and adds to the humor. Love Hector as the boss,(He was the best part of Pretty Woman). The girls are really starting to shine, especially the middle one, who is so clueless! I do agree with someone else, the youngest one is the most likable and best played. As far as Nancy Travis being weak, I disagree. She is nearly perfect as the sensible half of that marriage who is the calming influence. She has seen it all before and does not need to go over the top, that is Tim's job! (and still looks good in a pirate costume)
