The destruction might be overwhelming but it hasn't broken the resolve of the people of Homs, Syria, who are coming back.

"I am very happy I have come back, I have opened a shop and am cleaning it and working on it. I revisited my house."

Old Homs bore the brunt of fighting for two years from 2012. The clean up has started, but bringing back the bustling market will take time.

As traders slowly return to the old city of Homs, which was pummelled in the fighting, some are getting a helping hand to start over with small business grants funded by UNHCR. We have helped 1,500 so far and our goal is to support many more.
