Ratings: AMAs Nosedive 31 Percent to New All-Time Low

21 hours ago | The Wrap | See recent The Wrap news »

Well, 2016 continues to prove it’s no 2015. ABC’s “American Music Awards” plummeted 31 percent in TV ratings versus last year, setting a new all-time low for the show. Among total viewers, the AMAs dropped 25 percent year over year. The Disney-owned broadcast network finished third in primetime, falling to NBC and CBS, respectively. Both of those channels had NFL football on their schedules. Of course, that wasn’t exclusive to 2016, nor was WWE’s “Survivor Series,” against which the AMAs also competed last year. From 2014 to last year’s show, the “American Music Awards” slipped 8 percent. Also Read: AMAs 2016: Complete Winners. »

TNT Orders ‘Snowpiercer’ Pilot From Tomorrow Studios

Bong Joon-ho’s “Snowpiercer” will be adapted for the small screen, Variety has learned. TNT has ordered a pilot for a “Snowpiercer” series, based on the 2014 film, from Tomorrow Studios. Josh Friedman will serve as executive producer and writer-showrunner.

The film, which won heaps of critical acclaim, imagines a world in which what remains of humanity lives aboard a train that endlessly circles a frozen Earth, with a brutal caste system enforced through which car a person inhabits. “‘Snowpiercer’ has one of the most original concepts to hit the screen in the last decade, and it’s one that offers numerous opportunities for deeper exploration in a series format,” said Sarah Aubrey, executive vice president of original programming for TNT. “We look forward to expanding TNT’s relationship with Tomorrow Studios and their take on a world where humanity is pushed to the extreme.”

For others, it means being grateful they decided to save you the trouble of an extra place setting. Jane the Virgin‘s core has always been about families, the ones we’re born into and the ones we create. Newlywed Jane has so many blessings this year it’s overwhelming, but one of them could turn out to be a whole lot of trouble. Supergirl Season 2 Episode 7 Review: “The Darkest Place”

5 hours ago | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

Supergirl has been so strong and self-assured in Season 2 that it’s been difficult to find any major flaws with the series. In fact, I’ve declared it the best superhero series that’s currently on The CW. However, no matter how solid of a season a show may be having, there are always going to be certain hours where its weaknesses are exposed, and unfortunately for Supergirl, “The Darkest Place” is one of those episodes. “The Darkest Place” isn’t a bad episode of Supergirl as much as it is a crowded one. There’s a lot going on throughout this hour, from Kara

They say that home is where the heart is. The fiancée of a late real estate tycoon Dean Cooper’s son killed her future father-in-law for blackmailing her and both of them took the blame for it. In Lucifer’s case, on the other hand, his home is on Earth because his heart is with Detective Decker. On tonight’s episode of Lucifer, our favourite Devil faces eviction from Lux. On top of that, Mommy Dearest plots to convince him to go back to the Silver City. Things are about to get real. The scene where Eric Cooper (Nick Jandl) showed Lucifer the eviction notice,

Carrie Fisher told Stephen Colbert’s Late Show audience tonight that, yes, those tales of wild, rampant Star Wars sex were true. Ewoks, she joked, screwed like rabbits. Fisher was less forthcoming about her recently revealed affair with co-star Harrison Ford, brushing it away with an embarrassed laugh. “I can’t handle it,” she joked with a sort of mock mortification. “I’m sure he can’t handle it at all.” The he, of course, is Ford, the Han Solo to her Princess Leia, and… »

International Emmys: ‘Deutschland 83’ Wins for Drama, Dustin Hoffman for ‘Esio Trot’

A study in contrasts: Less than two weeks ago, New York’s Hilton played host to Donald Trump’s victory party. On Monday night, the International Emmy Awards held their 44th annual gala, honoring the likes of “Deutschland 83,” Dustin Hoffman, and Shonda Rhimes.

The strangeness wasn’t lost on International Emmy Awards host Alan Cumming.

“This is a moment of utter luminescence,” Cumming said at the beginning of the ceremony. “But oh, how quickly darkness and despair can fall. I feel it is my moral obligation to inform you: This hall was the venue for one of the darkest, most destructive moments in our history.”

Cumming went on eloquently, and sometimes wryly, about the assembled artists “kicking the foul spirits” out of the venue simply by coming on stage to accept their awards. He likened the President-elect to a tumor.

“Tonight is about extinguishing bad energy and bigotry,” Cumming said. “There »

Gotham Review: “Mad City” Becomes A “Time Bomb”

As Gotham approaches its mid-season finale, all of the stories that have had their groundwork laid are coming to fruition. The best part about the season is that, though these stories have been simmering and are now really cooking, none of them have felt drawn out or rushed. Some of them have been more predictable than others, but largely, the season has been exciting and fun to watch to this point. This week on Gotham: Barbara searches for Butch and Tabitha, who have been taken by Nygma as penance for Isabella’s death. Barbara discovers the true killer.
