November 29th Blu-ray & DVD Releases Include Don’T Breathe, Sacrifice!

Well, horror fans, we have only a few releases on hand for November 29th. So this Tuesday, get ready for the Blu-ray and DVD arrival of Fede Alvarez’s latest excursion in terror, Don’t Breathe.

Vinegar Syndrome will also be releasing the kung-fu horror film Death Machines on home media this Tuesday, and Raro Video USA will unleash Umberto Lenzi's cannibal film Sacrifice! on Blu-ray as well.

It looks like the horror Blu-ray and DVD front picks back up again on December 6th, so be sure to keep an eye out for more titles next week.

Interview Highlights from Don’T Breathe Luncheon Featuring Fede Alvarez, Rodo Sayagues, and Sam Raimi

Earlier this month, Daily Dead was invited, alongside a group of fellow journalists, to attend a special luncheon with the filmmakers behind Don’t Breathe, including co-writer/director Fede Alvarez, co-writer Rodo Sayagues, and producer Sam Raimi, in celebration of the film’s Blu-ray and DVD release on Tuesday, November 29th.

In this clip from Brad Peyton's Incarnate, someone chooses what's behind the blue door. Starring Aaron Eckhart, Incarnate hits theaters from Blumhouse Tilt in just a few days on December 2nd.

Westworld Season 1 Finale Teased in New Preview Video

Although it may be difficult to believe, the season 1 finale of Westworld is almost here, and to give viewers an idea of what to expect, HBO released a new preview video that teases a "new narrative."

Anne Rice Reveals Plans for The Vampire Chronicles TV Series

Author Anne Rice is kicking off her new book tour with a bang by announcing that she has regained the theatrical rights to her Vampire Chronicles book series and is looking to bring Lestat to the small screen.

Announcing the news on her official Facebook page, Rice revealed that, along with her son Christopher, she will create a pilot script and an outline for the Vampire Chronicles TV series, which will "faithfully" adapt the tale of the immortal Lestat de Lioncourt. Rice and Christopher will also executive produce the series. Still in the early stages of development, the TV series does not yet have a network to call home, but we'll keep Daily Dead readers updated on further details.

Fritz Weaver Has Passed Away

Some very sad news is making the rounds today, as it has been reported that Fritz Weaver has passed away at the age of 90.

News of Fritz Weaver's passing was confirmed by Weaver's son-in-law, Bruce Ostler, according to The New York Times. In addition to winning a Tony award for his performance in 1970's Child’s Play, Weaver accumulated an impressive number of acting credits within the horror and sci-fi genres—on both the big and small screens—throughout his career.

Stephen King fans likely remember Weaver as Dexter Stanley from "The Crate" segment of Creepshow, where he starred alongside Hal Holbrook, Adrienne Barbeau, and the creepy creature unleashed from its prison.

Weaver also left his mark on a number of anthology series, including The Twilight Zone, Monsters, Tales From the Darkside, Night Gallery, and Tales of the Unexpected, in addition to appearances on Friday the 13th: The Series and The X-Files. »
