Aaron Eckhart Won’t Return For Angel Has Fallen

Olympus Has Fallen and its sequel, London Has Fallen, weren’t particularly great movies. In fact, you could even argue that the latter was pretty awful. Still, there was something about them that really clicked with audiences and having made a nice little profit for the studio, we’ll now be getting a third entry in the form of Angel Has Fallen.

Gerard Butler will be back to kick some more ass and avoid death more times than humanly possible, but it looks like Aaron Eckhart’s President Asher won’t be there to stand by his side again, as the actor told Collider he won’t be showing up in the threequel.

“The President is retired. He’s golfing and he’s amassing his library right now, so… [salutes].”

Seeing as the film will have Butler’s Mike Banning gearing up for battle once again as new enemies prepare to wage war on Washington D. »

Harley Quinn Bothers Killer Croc In New Suicide Squad Deleted Scene

While we impatiently await the arrival of the impending Harley Quinn spinoff film co-starring the Birds of Prey, let us not forget that the release of Suicide Squad Extended Edition is upon us. And, in advance of that, comes the expected breadcrumbs that make a valiant effort to satisfy our hunger.

The new cut of David Ayer’s film hits Digital HD tomorrow and Blu-ray on December 13th, and from what we’ve heard, it’ll come packing 11 minutes of new footage. Some of that has been teased out over the past few weeks, and after getting a new clip of the Joker and Harley Quinn earlier today, we now have a new scene of Dr. Quinzel and Killer Croc.

The Status Of Our Dishonored 2 Review

Late last week, Dishonored 2 – the much-anticipated follow-up to Arkane’s 2012 stealth/action masterpiece – officially released onto both retail and digital store shelves. The hype was great, and the post-release buzz has been quite positive (outside of some technical issues on the PC side), but reviews have been slow to come out.

There’s a reason for that though, and you’re likely already aware of it. As you’ve probably heard or read, Bethesda recently changed its review policy to make it so that early copies and codes are now a thing of the past. Instead of getting games a week before they’re out, media outlets like ourselves now have to wait until launch, or just prior. As such, it’s difficult to post our opinions right at release, or to form a qualified opinion in the same timeframe we used to be able to work in. It’s unfortunate, »

Green Arrow And The Flash Face The Dominators In New Promo For DC TV Crossover

The CW has released a new look at the upcoming four night crossover which will play out in Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow later this month. In the event, all of those iconic superheroes will come together to take on an alien race known as The Dominators. Their intentions aren’t clear as of right now, but if we look at the comic books, it’s a safe bet that they’ve come to Earth to take on metahumans as they look to create their own.

In the promo above, we actually get a first look at the aliens, and it’s fair to say they’re pretty terrifying. However, that’s not the only big reveal. The Flash and Supergirl can be seen teaming up to take on an unknown foe, while characters like Citizen Steel and Wild Dog are rocking some pretty cool new costumes. »

DJ Snake Confirms He’s Playing Coachella 2017

We’ve still got a ways to go until Coachella 2017, but already we’re starting to hear whispers about the highly anticipated roster of talent that will be performing there. Not too long ago a leaked list popped up on the internet (and that wasn’t even the first one), and we’ve also seen the artists themselves letting things slip. First, it was DJ Khaled, and now, DJ Snake joins him.

The producer posted on Snapchat earlier today a photo which strongly implied that he’ll be playing at the festival. It was taken down quickly after going live, but you can check it out for yourself below:

Of course, the artist could just be having some fun with his fans, but there’s no reason to think that he wouldn’t show up somewhere like Coachella. After all, he’s a bona fide hit maker, with numerous chart-topping »

Ryan Reynolds Pleaded With Fox To Make Deadpool

Ryan Reynolds didn’t exactly have an easy time getting into the superhero business. Not that it was his fault, mind you, but the actor had two massive misfires with both his role as Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and then as the titular hero in Green Lantern. Thankfully, redemption finally came when the Merc with a Mouth got his own solo outing, which turned out to be one of 2016’s very best films.

Getting 20th Century Fox to give the green light to a Deadpool movie though, let alone one with an R rating, was no easy task. And in a recent interview with GQ, Reynolds recounts how he had begged the studio to make it before he signed on for Green Lantern, but they wouldn’t budge.

“I wrote a letter to my executive at Fox saying, ‘I’m gonna take this movie Green Lantern if you guys aren’t gonna make Deadpool. »

Michael Shannon Confesses To Falling Asleep During Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice

Back when Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice was shooting, Michael Shannon was constantly generating a stir with comments he made about the movie. From claims about wearing flippers to jokes about playing a ghost, the Man of Steel star has since said very little about what he thought of the finished product.

Well, the floodgates have now opened and Shannon has finally weighed in on Dawn of Justice, a movie which divided fans and drew the ire of film critics.

“People ask me about this all the time. Okay, I’ll tell you the god’s honest truth. Zack [Snyder] is gonna kill me for this – he’s gonna kill me. I watched it once and I fell asleep. I know, I know… I was on an international flight and I was tired….I shouldn »

Marvel’s The Inhumans Coming To ABC Next Year

In a rather surprising move, Marvel has announced that they’ll be bringing The Inhumans to ABC next Fall, with a premiere set for IMAX theatres. According to the studio, the show will “explore the never-before-told epic adventure of Black Bolt and the royal family,” and will have its first two episodes shot entirely with IMAX digital cameras, hence the debut on the silver screen.

Though the Inhumans were originally set to be part of the McU, with a movie booked in for a 2018 release, chatter on the project quietly died down over the last year or so and many people thought it’d been shelved for good. Turns out that was kind of true, as now instead of a feature film, the property will be getting its own television series. Perhaps not as exacting as a movie then, but I suppose it’s the next best thing, right?

“This unprecedented alliance represents a bold, »

New Rogue One: A Star Wars Story TV Spot Reveals Warwick Davis’ Cameo

It may have been over thirty years since his appearance in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, but Warwick Davis has remained a constant presence in the franchise ever since. He’s made a number of cameos in everything from The Phantom Menace to The Force Awakens, and next up for him is Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

The TV spot above was released a few days ago, but take another look around the 0:13 mark and you’ll notice a creature who Davis has now confirmed is indeed him in costume. He also noted that this is the first time he’s played a character with a blaster, so the British actor is clearly going to get to see at least some action in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Davis hasn’t disclosed any further details about the character, but it seems like he’s a Rebel »

Unicorn Store: Samuel L. Jackson, Joan Cusack And Bradley Whitford In For Brie Larson’s Feature Debut

Los Angeles is currently playing host to the production of Unicorn Store, the feature film debut of Room breakout Brie Larson, and we now have word of three new additions to the cast: Samuel L. Jackson, Joan Cusack and Bradley Whitford.

Larson, who also stars in the comedy pic, will be directing from an original screenplay penned by Samantha McIntyre, one which centers on “a woman who moves back in with her parents, and she receives an invitation to a store that will test her ideas of what it really means to grow up.” There’s no mention of when Unicorn Store will swing its doors open to the moviegoing masses, nor who Jackson, Cusack and/or Whitford will be playing in the finished product, but we can certainly expect more news to emerge as the project begins to coalesce.

True Memoirs Of An International Assassin Review

Wait – an original Netflix comedy that doesn’t star Adam Sandler? It’s real! True Memoirs Of An International Assassin only mines from Sandler’s comedian crew for lead actor Kevin James, with no cameos in sight. I mean, you try pitching a movie as “Spy, but starring a guy!” without James’ name immediately thrown into the mix. That’s what you’re getting here. A Venezuelan spy thriller about some random Joe obsessed with tactical espionage training, who finds out that being a secret agent is even harder than it looks. It’s a fish-out-of-water comedy with deadly consequences – and not a whole lot of substance.

James stars as Sam Larson, a hopeful writer whose first book – Memoirs Of An International Assassin – gets marketed as non-fiction by an ambitious publicist (played by Kelen Coleman). Book sales take off, which brings a lot of attention to Sam. He gets as »

Game Of Thrones Spinoff Series Not Off The Table, According To HBO Brass

Last we reported on a Game of Thrones offshoot, showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss effectively ruled themselves out of the proposed spinoff series, but that hasn’t quelled HBO’s enthusiasm to mine Westeros for future content beyond the show’s eighth and final season.

In fact, according to the network’s programming president Casey Bloys, a Game of Thrones prequel series isn’t off the table, and the Powers That Be are hosting “preliminary” talks with franchise mastermind George R.R. Martin about where to take A Song of Ice and Fire next. Per Entertainment Weekly: “I would say it’s still kind of preliminary ongoing talks. There are areas we are exploring, but I wouldn’t point to any one and say, ‘This is what we’re going to do.’”

Sweet/Vicious Season 1 Review

Two episodes were provided prior to broadcast.

More often than not, MTV’s sleek high-quality production values and tragically attractive talent pool works overtime in negating the “edgy” content its scripted department has run toward since Teen Wolf became a hit. That show, lest anyone forget, began much the same way: polished to a mirror shine, but without much beating beneath its six-pack-abs-strewn DVD cover art. It’s taken years for it to become something special and intricately layered, finally embracing – and elevating – the MTV-ness of it all.

Some shows on the network start out with a more assured, self-aware grasp (The Shannara Chronicles), and some simply feel like slowly unfurling wastes (Scream). MTV’s newest crack at shocking the millennial set enough to tweet out a hashtag is Sweet/Vicious, and I’m very happy to report that it falls far closer to the former group than the latter. »

A Wrinkle In Time Nabs Release Date, Completes The Mannequin Challenge While Doing So

You’ve heard of the Mannequin Challenge, haven’t you? Just like the Harlem Shake and even the Ice Bucket Challenge before it, the viral trend tasks people with completing a simple challenge in front of a camera, spawning a domino effect that often hooks in big-name celebrities across nine kinds of social platforms. The results vary from hilarious to downright bizarre – such is the nature of the Internet itself – and today the cast and crew of Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time have got in on the fun to announce the film’s official release date: April 6, 2018.

Embedded above, in a style typical of the Mannequin Challenge, you’ll see the camera track over, under and around the static crew – director Ava DuVernay included – before landing on the young Storm Reid, the rising star who will take point as Meg Murry. Bound for an interstellar journey to locate her wayward father, »

Ryan Reynolds Weighs In On Tim Miller’s Decision To Exit Deadpool 2

If 20th Century Fox’s lucrative X-Men franchise was in a state of flux in the aftermath of Apocalypse, Tim Miller’s abrupt departure from Deadpool 2 effectively pumped the brakes on a sequel that was considered by many to be one of the most bankable projects on the studio’s slate.

Three weeks on from Miller’s exit and the search for a replacement continues, with John Wick co-director David Leitch reportedly high on Fox’s shortlist. While we still don’t have confirmation from the studio on who they’ll be bringing in to helm, we do at least have a little more insight into the changeover thanks to GQ, who sat down with the Merc With a Mouth himself, Ryan Reynolds, to discuss all things Deadpool.

It didn’t take long for Tim Miller to come up in conversation, to which Reynolds replied: “All I can really »

Marvel At The Lush World Of Horizon Zero Dawn Via New Featurette

As a new intellectual property and budding franchise-starter, Horizon Zero Dawn isn’t short of potential, and is perhaps the textbook example of a creative risk in the video game space.

Hailing from Guerrilla Games, this is the developer that has forged a legacy for intense corridor shooters via the Killzone franchise. But following the release of Shadow Fall on PS4, Guerrilla is changing gears rather dramatically to foster a post-post-apocalypse, and that’s a change of direction that Managing Director Hermen Hulst touched on while chatting to Game Informer.

“We’re known for our first-person shooters series, Killzone. Storytelling in an open world in an RPG is not something that we hadn’t done before. But I think all of us, we really welcome it as a wonderful opportunity to create something that’s so fresh, so new–it’s a wonderful challenge for us.”

Brother Orange Movie: Warner And BuzzFeed Cast Jim Parsons For Internet Yarn

Depending on how deep your knowledge of the Internet goes, Brother Orange is either a viral phenomenon that passed you by or an international yarn that you hold near and dear.

Warner Bros. and BuzzFeed will be hoping it’s the latter, as the studios are teaming for a big-screen rendition of the story that involves a stolen iPhone, selfies, iCloud feeds and orange trees. It may not be as iconic as say, Nyan Cat, but both parties are evidently invested in Brother Orange, with The Hollywood Reporter bringing word today that Jim Parsons, star of The Big Bang Theory, has climbed aboard for a key role.

He’ll play Matt Stopera, whose titular BuzzFeed article about a stolen iPhone spawned the Brother Orange meme we know today. Two years ago, Stopera had his mobile phone stolen, only to find that it had inexplicably made its way to China, where »

X-23 Hitches A Ride In First Logan Banner

Early on in development, conflicting rumors began to emerge regarding the core story of Logan – then known simply as The Wolverine 3 – with excited X-Men fans dreaming up weird and wonderful theories regarding Hugh Jackman’s final stand as the enraged mutant.

One such tidbit proved bang on point, too, and it’s the one that correctly guessed that James Mangold’s 2017 feature would herald the arrival of X-23, a young mutant named Laura who displays many of the same abilities that have empowered (afflicted?) Wolverine since Jackman first donned those iconic claws more than a decade ago. It tees up a powerful dynamic between the Aussie actor and young up-and-comer Dafne Keen, who can be seen together on the first official Logan banner above, as spotted by Cbm.

The xx’s “On Hold” Sees New Dance Remix

It’s been a whirlwind of emotions for The xx fans leading up to their recent batch of announcements pertaining to a new album. Not only did they tease new music via mysterious clips uploaded to their Spotify playlist, but their new single, “On Hold,” found the band venturing in some newer upbeat territory. The song also samples Hall & Oates, and a dance-y new remix from Godmode pokes fun at Daryl Hall’s response to the track.

Being a part of Hall & Oates means that you have to deal with a lot of artists sampling your work, and luckily, the guys are pretty cool with it … as long as they get their money. Hall commented on The xx’s comeback single supporting the sample, ending his statement with, “Have fun and pay me.”

Naturally, the remix is named after that part of the quote, and the remix adds plenty of »

Jackie Fights To Uphold A Legacy In Latest Trailer For Upcoming Biopic

Cast one eye over this year’s roster of budding Oscar contendors and you’ll no doubt locate the likes of La La Land, Fences and the Casey Affleck-led Manchester By the Sea. Together they form they bona fide frontrunners and, truth be told, they’ll take some budging. But outside of those favorites, you’ll find the outliers – the dark horses, a category that makes room for Arrival, Sully and Pablo Larraín’s non-traditional biopic, Jackie.

Pegged for premiere on December 2, Larraín’s starry and oddly timely picture introduces Natalie Portman as the late, great Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, considered to be the “most unknown of the known women of the 20th century.” What we see in today’s full-length trailer is an intimate portrait of Mrs. Kennedy’s life immediately after JFK’s assassination on that fateful day in ’63.
