IMDb is my Bible!
That's a joke I always use when I'm having a convo with friends and need to settle a debate or remember a title. "Allow me to consult my Bible!" IMDb has everything you'll ever need on all things film/tv/voiceover/even theater. Trivia, continuity errors, community reviews, forums, cast and crew lists, and features the latests trailers and sneak peaks, interviews, etc. about the hottest new films and upcoming films. A couple times a month I'll open it up and check the trailers to find new films to put on my watchlist to keep my eye out for. The app itself runs great for me, it may have crashed once or twice, but on those occasions I've had several apps running at the same time that may or may not have contributed to that, or it could have been a bug or something that was fixed in the next update. Video runs smoothly and without lag or any issues, photos come up smoothly as well, the program runs quick and I never have to sit and wait for anything to load (unless my internet or data connection is poor, but that's to be expected). I have an iPhone 6 and my carrier is Verizon. It's a great app, I recommend it from everyone to casual television and film watchers to film buffs like myself.
Great website - great app despite glitchiness
This app makes it so easy to browse imdb. I use the app almost daily. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because there are a couple of annoying glitches in the current version. One glitch that I've noticed for a couple of years now is that when you click the "x" connected to an ad to close it out, about half the time it just leaves a black bar, which makes the bottom quarter (it's a big bar) of your screen useless until you close and kill the app and reopen it. This happened on my iPhone 5 and 5s. The other glitch, which is more recent, is that when I hold my finger on the top left corner (to open recently viewed content), the app opens several pages of your recently viewed content on top of each other. This glitch is annoying because when I want to go back to what I was looking at, I have to push the back button over and over again. I noticed both of these glitches on my wife's iPhone 6 as well. But these are my only two problems that I have with the otherwise awesome app and website! I'm not trying to nitpick, just pointing out some bugs that should get squashed and I'll update my review to 5 stars : )
An Absolute MUST HAVE
I watch movies and shows every day, if I can. I constantly check IMDb throughout the day, even when not watching something, if just to I ask "What do I know that actor from?" Or "Who played ______ in ________?" I also use it to find out new details on my favorite characters, actors, series, or directors. Another great aspect is the rating system, with which I can compare critic reviews and meta-critic (aka "biased" 😉) reviews, to see if something is worth watching when I'm on the fence. Whatever the case, I would go crazy without IMDb. 5/5 MUST HAVE!
