According To Major DC Writer, Wonder Woman Is Definitely Gay

DC Comics writer Greg Rucka is currently working on a run of Wonder Woman Year One books designed to flesh out and reimagine the Amazonian heroine's origin story. The writer recently made some comments about the classic DC character that may surprise you and yet, according to Rucka, it's about something that's so plainly obvious that the real response should be: Duh.

Rucka, in an interview with Comicosity, says that it's plain to see that Wonder Woman is gay. After saying "Yes" about whether or not the Wonder Woman he's writing is gay, Rucka went on to offer this very long, very thorough explanation:

"I think it’s more complicated though. This is inherently the problem with Diana: we’ve had a long history of people — for a variety of reasons, including sometimes pure titillation, which I think is the worst reason — say, 'Ooo. Look. It’s the Amazons. They’re gay! »

Super Bowl 51 Halftime Show Will Be Headlined By Lady Gaga!

For hardcore football fans, the Super Bowl is a huge deal. It's the biggest game of the year, where- in theory- the two very best teams in the entire NFL face off for the Vince Lombardi Trophy. For more casual fans, though, the true entertainment on Super Bowl Sunday comes in the form of clever commercials and a spectacular halftime concert. Last year's Super Bowl had several highlights, but one of them actually came in the form of Lady Gaga's stirring rendition of the National Anthem. For Super Bowl 51, Gaga will be back, but this time as the headliner for the big halftime show.

The singer, and sometimes actress, took to twitter to officially announce that Super Bowl 51 is going Gaga.

It's not an illusion. The rumors are true. This year the Super Bowl goes Gaga! @nfl @Foxtv @pepsi #Perfectillusion #Gagasuperbowl pic.twitter.com/qR4O57451G

Christopher Nolan Getting A Crazy Salary For His Upcoming World War II Epic Dunkirk.

Looks like Warner Bros. Pictures is giving director Christopher Nolan a big pay day for his upcoming World War II epic film Dunkirk.

According to a report on THR, Nolan is said to be getting $20 million upfront and 20 percent of the gross for Dunkirk. That will be the richest deal since Peter Jackson got the same for King Kong. The studio must have a lot of confidence in Nolan. Let's just hope the film is not a dud. Dunkirk is the filmmaker's first full-length feature since 2014's Interstellar, which had mixed reviews.

Dunkirk stars Tom HardyMark RylanceKenneth BranaghCillian MurphyFionn WhiteheadAneurin BarnardHarry StylesJames D'ArcyJack LowdenBarry Keoghan, and Tom Glynn-Carney

The film focuses on the 1940 evacuation of Allied soldiers by the British Army from the city of Dunkirk, France.

Dunkirk is scheduled to hit movie theaters July 21, 2017.

Forecast: Will Miss Peregrine's Opening Weekend Put Tim Burton Back On Top?

Tim Burton is one of the most iconic filmmakers of his generation. With a voice and style that's distinctly his own, he's had a sizable impact on American cinema over the last 30 years. That said, he's had a rough run of it lately...

To find Burton's last unadulterated hit, you'd have to go all the way back to 2010's Alice In Wonderland. And while that movie made a mint at the box office, it wasn't exactly a critical darling. He followed that up with directorial efforts like Dark Shadows, Frankenweenie, and Big Eyes- none of which really took the world by storm.

That's what makes this weekend's Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children one to watch out for. The $110 million film could either serve as a rebound for Burton, or continue to put forth the idea that the director is on the decline.

Based on Thursday previews, industry analysts »

James Bond Producers Reveal Who Their First Choice Is For Next 007 Film

What was once a love-hate relationship between Daniel Craig and the role of James Bond seemingly became a hate-hate relationship last year, when Craig spoke rather bluntly about how "over it" he was, following the release of Spectre. And yet, it seems, the folks in charge of the Bond franchise would still love for Craig to have a change of heart.

According to Callum MacDougal, who served as an executive producer on the last four Bond flicks- i.e. all of the Craig ones- and has worked on nine total 007 flicks, producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson think of Craig as their absolute first choice for the next film.

This all came up during a BBC interview, when MacDougal was asked if there was a chance Craig might return. "I wish I knew,” he answered. “We love Daniel. We would love Daniel to return as Bond. Without any question »

Film Review: Denial

In politics, the difference between fact and opinion have perhaps never been as blurred as they are today in the age of social media. In this context, it is hard to imagine a movie more relevant and important than the upcoming drama Denial. And it is disappointing to see what the movie does not do—provide a compelling way to tackle the subject.

The story of the film is that of real-life history professor Dr. Deborah Lipstadt’s (played by Rachel Weisz) after she is sued in England for libel by a man she named in her new book about Holocaust deniers (Timothy Spall, with all his mousy evilness). To successfully defend herself, she must prove in court, essentially, that the Holocaust occurred. Led by a team of quirky barristers and solicitors (Andrew Scott and Tom Wilkinson), she sets out to achieve something that seems straightforward yet is not actually so. »

Film Review: Masterminds

29 September 2016 10:06 AM, PDT

Stories of great heists start with a bang and end with a whimper. But in Masterminds, a comedy based on the true story theft of an armored vehicle by incompetent robbers to the tune of $17 million, it begins with the usual plot devices: a voice over narrator, slow-motion shots for comedic effect, and a girl. And it closes not with a whimper but with title cards, pictures of the real life baddies, and comedic outtakes for good measure. Hollywood has done another of its numbers on a middling tale, and not in a good way.

The girl in question is Kelly, played with unusual quietness by Kristen Wiig, and the hapless lover is David Scott Ghant, portrayed by Zach Galifianakis sporting pageboy bangs. Ghant works at an armored vehicle company with Kelly, and falls hard for her. After she introduces Ghant to swindler Steve Chambers, the expectably soft-spoken Owen Wilson, »

Daniel Radcliffe Would've Been Up For Playing Spider-Man

29 September 2016 9:30 AM, PDT

Image via Metro UK

If there's one actor who's managed to keep his head above water following a good decade of growing up on screen, it's Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe. After the conclusion of that series, he seemed to stay low for a while, and has since made his mark on several indie films, along with a few bigger budget ones thrown in for good measure. More than anything, Radcliffe seems to picking and choosing his projects very carefully -- not necessarily opting to hop onto other big franchises, but instead searching for creatively fulfilling titles. After spending a decade attached to 8 films in a running series, you can imagine he'd be hesitant to commit to something so life-consuming.

There is, however, one character he would've been more than happy to play: Spider-Man. Speaking with Metro UK, Radcliffe expressed his enthusiasm for the character.

Doctor Strange: The Eye Of Agomotto Confirmed As An Infinity Stone?

29 September 2016 9:00 AM, PDT

Slowly but surely, Marvel has introduced many of the Ininity Stones, all of which will play a big role in the upcoming Marvel Studios teamup flick, Avengers: Infinity War. Thus far, throughout the previous 13 films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, our heroes have interacted with four of these stones: The Space Stone (the Tesseract in Avengers), The Mind Stone (Loki's Scepter, and now Vision's headpiece), The Reality Stone (which caused all sorts of confusion in Thor: The Dark World), and the Power Stone (which served as the MacGuffin in Guardians of the Galaxy).

So this leaves us two more stones to find before they are inevitably collected by McU big bad Thanos and used to unleash all sorts of hell on the Avengers.

Well, may be able to cross off one more stone off your list. In a report from Comicbook.com, the outlet described a conversation with Doctor Strange prop guy Barry Gibbs. »

Suicide Squad Ousts Iron Man To Become One Of The Top 50 Highest-Grossing Films!

29 September 2016 7:16 AM, PDT

A frequent topic on the Los Fanboys Podcast is how strong the DC brand is. Despite tepid-to-awful reviews, and despite being highly divisive amongst fans, all three DC Extended Universe films have done great business at the box office. The latest effort from WB/DC, Suicide Squad, just entered some pretty prestigious box office territory.

Box Office Mojo is reporting that Suicide Squad has just cleared $ $318,584,857 million domestically, knocking Marvel's Iron Man out of the bottom spot on the Top 50 Highest-Grossing Domestic Movies of All Time.

The David Ayer flick, about a bunch of villains being brought together and being forced to channel their inner heroes, hit this milestone despite being blasted by critics. It's now only a few notches short of Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, which sits at number 46 on that list with $330 million.

Jammer and I have discussed how it can be hard to interpret this victory for WB/DC. »
