About Morpeth

Morpeth is a historic Northumberland market town with a heritage stretching back to the Norman Conquest 1,000 years ago. Today, Morpeth is the principal town of the county of Northumberland and home to the County Council's head office. Home to about 14,000 people, it is a picturesque area some 15 miles from Newcastle. Close to the A1, it has good rail and bus links to Newcastle.
