About Bedlington

Bedlington is a town in Northumberland famous for giving its name to a breed of dog - the Bedlington Terrier - also the name of its football team. The town played a major role in the Industrial Revolution as its iron works housed the only eighteenth century blast furnace in the area. It later created parts for George Stephenson's first locomotive.
