Mr. Robot Season 2 Episode 4 Review: eps2.2_init_1.asec

1 hour ago | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

Will Elliot ever be free of the voices inside his head?

On Mr. Robot Season 2 Episode 4 Elliot decided enough was enough and put a plan in motion to get rid of Mr. Robot for good. Elliot was so over having the blackouts.

Wouldn't anyone? How would you feel if you didn't know what you were doing?

The chess game seemed like it was going to be the time for Elliot to finally get rid of his father, but that wasn't to be. It wouldn't be Mr. Robot without Mr. Robot himself.

Elliot's mental state actually seemed to improve as the hour progressed. It was almost like he knew something needed to be done, so putting his mind to it helped.

His meeting with Darlene was tense. He didn't agree with what she did, but she was right to point out exactly what Elliot did. It doesn't appear as though this »

‘Mr. Robot’ Stars Talk Season 2 Secrets, Pokemon Go and Which Cast Member Loves ‘The Bachelorette’

21 July 2016 7:35 PM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

The cast of USA Network’s “Mr. Robot” made their Comic-Con debut on Thursday night, with stars Rami Malek, Christian Slater, Carly Chaikin, Portia Doubleday and Season 2 addition Grace Gummer on hand to discuss everything from the new season to the cast’s feelings on Pokemon Go and “The Bachelorette.”

The new season will only escalate the conflicts and tensions of Season 1 for all the characters, according to the cast. Doubleday teased that Angela, who’s already taken a dark turn thanks to her new corporate job, will continue down that path this season: “I think that there’s something really dangerous to be said about her obsession with these affirmations. What that’s stemming from is something quite explosive. She’s a troubling character, and we see that shift from Season 1 to Season 2,” she admitted. “She’s very malleable, which is also very exciting, because you don’t really know what’s going to happen with »

The Best Drama on TV Returns for Year 2

15 July 2016 6:24 AM, PDT | Cinelinx | See recent Cinelinx news »

Last year, the sensational USA Network cyber-thriller Mr. Robot won the Golden Globe for Best Drama series, beating out tough competition like the Game of Thrones. The mind-bending and unsettling first season of Mr. Robot was the sleeper hit of summer 2015, impressing fans and critics alike, delivering a show unlike anything else on TV. Now it’s back for its sophomore year and it’s just as slick, stylish and socially relevant as it was last year.

Computer hacking; rage-against-the-system anarchy; split personalities; secret societies; evil corporations; the FBI…these are just some of the elements in the two-part season premier of Mr. Robot, (Both episodes aired back-to-back on Wednesday night), written and directed by series creator/showrunner Sam Esmail. Rami Malik is back as the psychologically broken Elliot Alderson, and Christian Slater returns as the eponymous Mr. Robot.

The show starts off by strangely but smartly not answering the »

Mr. Robot Season 2 Review

13 July 2016 2:03 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

One episode was provided prior to broadcast.

When the pilot of Mr. Robot aired in June last year, Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump were mere outside candidates who had both just launched campaigns to become leaders of the Democratic and Republican parties respectively. Since then, the former has rallied the support of millions with his rallies against corporate America, while the latter remains in the running for the presidency thanks to his anti-establishment rhetoric. These unexpected developments may not quite be on par with the seismic societal shift at the climax of Mr. Robot’s first season, in which hackers had succeeded in taking on the entire capitalist system by wiping out all personal debt, but it’s fair to say that Mr. Robot tapped into a zeitgeist-y sense of general disillusionment and active rebellion against the status quo.

The aftermath of that hack sets the backdrop for the premiere »

'Mr. Robot': Everything You Need to Know for Season 2

12 July 2016 6:16 AM, PDT | Rollingstone.com | See recent Rolling Stone news »

Nothing is a coincidence or an accident in Mr. Robot, Sam Esmail's hacker psychothriller that wormed its way into last year's TV season like a particularly efficient computer virus. Visually stunning and meticulously plotted, the first season tapped into a rich vein of paranoia and disillusion running through the heart of late-stage capitalist society — in other words, it's not exactly your typical USA Network fare, a channel known for play-it-safe shows like Royal Pains and White Collar.

Told from the perspective of Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek), a brilliant but »

Review: Rami Malek continues to amaze in 'Mr. Robot' season 2

11 July 2016 7:00 PM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

When a TV show becomes a phenomenon in its first season like Mr. Robot did(*), there's always some concern leading into the second. Will the elements that made it distinct at first still feel special after we've had a year to get used to its tricks? Do this world and these characters have enough story in them to last many seasons, or did the creative team exhaust all their ideas early on? Are we about to get a sophomore slump like True Detective, or a sophomore surge like Fargo? (*) A critical and online phenomenon, anyway. Ratings for airings on USA (which is still paying the bills for the show) were small throughout. Across Mr. Robot's first hiatus, those concerns felt more amplified than normal. No, Rami Malek wasn't likely to become less riveting in his second go-around as damaged computer genius Elliot Alderson. And the show's story of Elliot's »

Mr. Robot: Here's One Very Interesting Scene We Can Look Forward to From Season 2

11 July 2016 10:45 AM, PDT | POPSUGAR | See recent BuzzSugar news »

Mr. Robot is so full of twists and turns that we almost don't want to know what's going to happen in the second season, just so we can be surprised. Then again, we can't resist some good behind-the-scenes pictures. Rami Malek, Christian Slater, Carly Chaikin, and Vaishnavi Sharma were seen filming what looks like a flashback scene at Coney Island in New York a few weeks ago. There's something about Slater dancing around that makes me feel happy inside? It's hard to describe, but look at the pictures and you'll know what I mean. If you can't wait for the new episodes, brush up what we know about the new season, make sure you're caught up on how season one ends, and find out what other places you've seen star Rami Malek! »

Mr. Robot Review: Season 2 Boots Up With Less Hacking, More Heady Drama

11 July 2016 8:19 AM, PDT | TVLine.com | See recent TVLine.com news »

Perhaps I was among a subset of Mr. Robot fans who appreciated Season 1 as a clever and engaging “heist” drama that was enriched by the fact that its antihero was, as eventually affirmed, plagued by mental illness.

The start of Season 2, though, inverts that formula, testing your willingness to cascade down many a dark rabbit hole with Eliot. But is that we want, to abandon the semblance of structure that the first season had, in the name of even more “What is real?” fake-outs? Wouldn’t that risk steering the acclaimed USA Network drama into being more of a niche appeal than ever? »

What to Expect From Mr. Robot Season 2: More Darlene, "Dark Places" and Unpredictable Twists

Carly Chaikin is just like you. The Suburgatory veteran, who is currently getting her hack on as Darlene on USA's critically acclaimed Mr. Robot, confessed to E! News she's "so excited" for season two, just like you. And also just like you, she wondered, "After season one we were all kind of like, 'Ok, where do we go from here?'" But fear not! "Because we did set the bar so high, and this season we definitely match it if not exceed it," she said. Phew. Don't expect a retread of last season with fsociety, the hacker group fronted by Mr. Robot (Christian Slater) who is actually a figment of Elliot's (Rami Malek) imagination, attempting another big hack »

Review: ‘Mr. Robot’ Season 2 Stays True to Its Weird Self

10 July 2016 7:49 PM, PDT | Indiewire Television | See recent Indiewire Television news »

The most important thing that “Mr. Robot” faced, going into Season 2, was the idea of addressing what happens next. While the Season 1 finale featured several unanswered questions, there was something relatively completist about the narrative, especially given the show’s biggest reveal — Mr. Robot’s (Christian Slater) real identity.

Fortunately, the Season 2 premiere proves that there’s plenty of story left to be told. The aftermath of fsociety’s big win at the end of Season 1 continues to reverberate across the world, but though things are far from resolved. Darlene (Carly Chaikin) and her fellow rebels are still trying to fully realize their revolution, while the Evil Corp executives are trying to recover their lost money and power. A battle has been won, but the war is ongoing. The system is damaged, but still technically intact. »

Control Is Merely An Illusion In Brand New Trailer For Mr. Robot Season 2

8 July 2016 9:47 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Control is merely an illusion in the latest trailer for Mr. Robot season 2, heralding the return of Rami Malek’s wildly erratic protagonist Elliot and the hacking group that now holds all the power chips over the top one percent.

That’s fsociety, the underground crew of impassioned anarchists headed up by Christian Slater’s title character. In light of Mr. Robot‘s breathless opening season, the chess pieces are scattered across the board, and we can’t wait to see how things unravel from here.

Peppered throughout that season were moments of madness for our own “hero” Elliot Alderson, and it’ll be fascinating to see how series creator Sam Esmail toys with our expectations through the lens of a capricious protagonist.

Tormented and largely out on his own, particularly now that Portia Doubleday’s Angela continues to be pulled into the clutches of one Phillip Price, Elliot is »
