Jennifer Lawrence Says Her Biggest Fear Is That Her Private Parts Turn Into a 'Wet Sponge'

9 hours ago | Entertainment Tonight | See recent Entertainment Tonight news »

Jennifer Lawrence is getting candid about her biggest fear -- and it's something you've never heard before.

The 26-year-old actress answered 128 questions worth of quiz questions for Vanity Fair as she covered the magazine's upcoming holiday issue and perhaps got a bit too personal when discussing her biggest fear.

Watch: Jennifer Lawrence Packs on the Pda With Darren Aronofsky -- See Their Steamy Kiss!

"My biggest irrational -- hopefully -- fear is that the Zika virus is going to be the solution to overpopulation," she explained.

But wait -- there's more!

"I don't know if you've ever read the Kurt Vonnegut short story where everyone has to take these pills that make your private parts feel like wet sponges and then nobody can have sex and no one can procreate," she continued. "And so by the time I'm older, and I'm like, 'I think I want to be a mother,' they're »

Adam McKay to direct Dick Cheney drama

12 hours ago | ScreenDaily | See recent ScreenDaily news »

The Oscar-nominated director of The Big Short will stay in the realm of current affairs and reunite with Paramount Pictures and Plan B on his next directorial outing.

McKay is lining up to direct the untitled Dick Cheney project and according to Deadline Hollywood, which broke the story on Tuesday, is aiming to start production next spring in time for a late 2017 release.

The writer-director and his Gary Sanchez partners Will Ferrell and Kevin Messick will produce alongside Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner of Plan B.

It is understood McKay is keen to explore what drove the former Halliburton CEO who served in several Republican administrations, culminating in his often vilified vice-presidency under George W Bush.

McKay is also directing the media mogul pilot Succession for HBO, and is writing Jennifer Lawrence starrer Bad Blood for Legendary Pictures and Universal, a feature he will direct about the blood testing scandal that engulfed the company Theranos »

Newswire: Adam McKay is getting a start on Bush-era nostalgia with a Dick Cheney biopic

14 hours ago | avclub.com | See recent The AV Club news »

From Deadline comes the news that Adam McKay is currently casting a biopic of America’s most powerful and least popular vice president, Dick Cheney, McKay—who recently made the leap from improv-heavy Will Ferrell movies to Oscar-winning live-action Vox explainers with The Big Short—also has a project called Bad Blood lined up with Jennifer Lawrence, but it’s unclear whether that’s going on the back burner while he readies the as-of-yet-untitled project. (Unfortunately, Dick is already taken.)

Really, he’s just trying to keep ahead of the curve as America begins to pine for the simpler times of the George W. Bush administration. Sure, the presidency was effectively controlled by a secretive wannabe autocrat with business-related conflicts of interest, but at least nobody liked him—except, apparently, the appointed senior counselor of the President-elect.

Per Deadline, Paramount Pictures is hoping to start filming in the spring ...

The Big Short, Step Brothers and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy director Adam McKay will direct a biopic about former American Vice President Dick Cheney for Paramount, it's been revealed. Will Ferrell is slated to play the jovial second-in-commander-in chief. Like the subject, the project’s title is shrouded in mystery, but Brad Pitt’s Plan B company will produce it.

McKay will write and direct the film, which will follow Cheney from his move, some say lateral because he served in the Nixon, Ford and George H W Bush administrations, from Halliburton CEO to American Vice President under former Texas Governor George W Bush.

“I’ve always found Cheney fascinating”, McKay, who is on the advisory board of anti-political-corruption group Represent.us, told Deadline. “Questions of what drove him, »

Adam McKay Plots Film About Dick Cheney

15 hours ago | Rollingstone.com | See recent Rolling Stone news »

Filmmaker Adam McKay will direct a new movie he wrote about former vice president Dick Cheney, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The movie will track Cheney's transition from CEO of oil conglomerate Halliburton to vice president in George W. Bush's White House. During his time as VP, Cheney notoriously exercised incredible sway, advocating for the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq alongside "enhanced interrogation techniques" such as waterboarding. Prior to his stint at Halliburton, Cheney worked in the Nixon, Ford and George H.W. Bush administrations, and served as the representative for Wyoming's at-large district. »

Adam McKay to Direct Dick Cheney Biopic

Academy Award winner Adam McKay is headed to the White House for his next feature film. Per Deadline, “The Big Short” helmer will direct an untitled Dick Cheney film for Paramount.

McKay will reteam with the studio and Plan B to tell the story about the former vice president who went from his CEO position at Halliburton to being VP under George W. Bush.

“I’ve always found Cheney fascinating,” McKay told Deadline. “Questions of what drove him, what his beliefs were; but once we started digging I was astounded at how much he had shaped modern America’s place in the world and how shocking the methods were by which he gained his power.”

Adam McKay’s Next Film Will Be Dick Cheney Biopic

17 hours ago | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

It’s been pretty remarkable to see Adam McKay —best known for “Step Brothers” and “Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy“— pivot into a career as a filmmaker with more serious issues on his mind. “The Big Short” is a tremendous calling card in that respect, earning five Oscar nominations and winning McKay one for Best Adapted Screenplay. Ever since, he’s seen a few projects pile up, including “Bad Blood” with Jennifer Lawrence attached, and the comic book adaptation “Irredeemable.” But it seems that once again McKay is taking aim at issues of considerable import.

Will Big End-of-Year Openings Push 2016 to a Box Office Record?

18 hours ago | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

It’s a Hollywood ending few saw coming. Somehow, despite all the naysayers, the fretting over sequel-itis, and a dearth of blue-chip franchises, 2016 is on pace to set a box office record. In order to finish the year on a high note, studios will spend the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday periods offering up spinoffs to the “Star Wars” and “Harry Potter” series, new Disney and Illumination animated adventures, and a singing and dancing Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.

“If everything pans out the way it looks like it will, I think we’re going to end up with another record year,” says Shawn Robbins, senior analyst at BoxOffice.com. “It’s been such a roller-coaster year that it didn’t feel like we were setting a new record, but the high points outweighed the low.”

Sneak Peek new images of Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence appearing in the latest issue of "Vanity Fair" magazine:

"...the thing that came with 'Hunger Games' is I still felt entitled to a certain life that I just wasn’t allowed to have," said Lawrence.

"I felt like I had the right to say, 'I don't want to be photographed right now, I don't want people outside my house right now'...I felt so much anger of 'Why can't I just do my job?' And then you just get used to it—and it just is.

"I think that we should be allowed time off.... I would love to be able to control being photographed. Then I wouldn't have a new headline out today that I wore the same jeans three days in a row. I was like, 'First of all, yes, I did. Second of all, fuck you, yes, I did. »

How Composer Jóhann Jóhannsson Found a New Musical Language for Denis Villeneuve’s ‘Arrival’

21 November 2016 2:30 PM, PST | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

Everything came together for film composer Jóhann Jóhannsson on “Arrival,” his third score with director Denis Villeneuve (following “Prisoners” and “Sicario”). Here he was able to broaden his avant-garde musical expression in a way that was totally in sync with the alien contact movie about language and communication.

“I have the luxury of working in pre-production with Denis, and the primary inspiration for the score came from the concept art,” Jóhannsson told IndieWire. “One of the main themes was written during the first week of shooting when the helicopter approaches the alien shell [or ship] for the first time.

“I did a session in Berlin where I was working with a 16-track tape loop and I recorded layers and layers of piano drones (sustained without the attack) at different speeds and slowed them down. So it took on the texture of the very tense drone with almost no processing. These were analog »

The '90s It Girls You Wanted (and Still Kind of Want) to Be

21 November 2016 12:00 PM, PST | Popsugar.com | See recent Popsugar news »

Ahh, the '90s. A time of Sassy and Jane magazines, MTV playing actual music videos, and devastatingly overtweezed eyebrows. We've brought back many of the decade's biggest trends, from Doc Martens and babydoll dresses to chokers and Lisa Frank - we've even rebooted some of the classic shows, like Boy Meets World, Full House, and The X-Files. In addition to the fashion, beauty, and entertainment highlights that have made their way back, there are lots of celebrities who had a huge '90s heyday and are still serving serious style now. Stars like Liv Tyler, Halle Berry, Drew Barrymore, and Winona Ryder have continued to inspire us, just like they did when we idolized them as teenagers. Yes, we can sing the praises of Beyoncé, Jennifer Lawrence, Gigi Hadid, and Emma Watson all day, but before them came a crop of impossibly cool women who paved the way and »
