Blistering First Clip And Featurette For Deepwater Horizon Reveal Peter Berg’s Ensemble Thriller

If Peter Berg and Mark Wahlberg developed a knack for hard-hitting drama through 2013’s Lone Survivor, by the year’s end, both director and actor will be well versed in crafting cinematic experiences from real-life tragedies. Not only have Berg and Wahlberg lined up Deepwater Horizon – see the blistering new trailer above – there’s also the small matter of Patriot’s Day, the star-studded depiction of the harrowing Boston bombing of 2013. But more on that later.

Up first for Berg and Wahlberg is the infamous Bp oil spill that wreaked havoc across the Gulf of Mexico six years ago. It was an event that will no doubt go down as one of the worst – if not the worst – man-made environmental disasters in modern history. However, Deepwater Horizon is more concerned with the human story at the heart of the tragedy and, specifically, the men and women on board the titular »

All 16 Multiplayer Maps Will Be Included In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered

By the year’s end, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will feature all 16 default multiplayer maps from the beloved original.

Word comes by way of the ongoing Call of Duty Xp event, confirming that 10 of the those multiplayer arenas will ship with the single-player campaign when the shooter launches on November 4 – it’s only available via the Infinite Warfare special editions – before the final six maps are introduced by December 31.

Ensuring that long-time Call of Duty fans have plenty of content to chew on, Activision teases that the roster of launch maps will boast such “fan favorites” as Crash, Backlot, Crossfire, Overgrown and Bog. There’s currently no mention of which maps will be added to that online selection before the year’s end.

Per Activision:

All 16 Modern Warfare MP maps are coming to all #MWRemastered owners. That’s 10 #MWRemastered maps at launch and 6 maps coming in December.

Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare Multiplayer Unveiled, Beta Kicks Off October 14

Touting the “most customizable” multiplayer experience in the franchise’s decorated history, Activision and developer Infinity Ward today unveiled the online component of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

Aligned for release across PS4, Xbox One and PC on November 4, the blistering first trailer for Infinite Warfare’s multiplayer is accompanied with news of an open beta test. Much like Black Ops III before it, it’ll be available on PlayStation 4 first come October 14, though there’s currently no mention of when it’ll make the leap across to the other two platforms. If past betas are anything to go by, it shouldn’t be any longer than a week.

In flinging its crown jewel into the not-so-distant future, Activision has opened up a whole host of bleeding-edge technology for players to toy with. The Combat Rigs, for instance, are essentially customizable mech suits that can be tailored to your play style. »

3Lau, Blasterjaxx And More Remix Krewella’s Ammunition Ep

Krewella‘s companion to their recently released Ammuntion Ep has dropped today, featuring a notable cast of remixers including 3Lau, Blasterjaxx, Diskord, Kayzo, and more. The remix pack includes a diverse array of reworks, with each song from the Ep receiving at least one flip, save for “Surrender The Throne.”

With a total of thirteen new remixes, the companion release for Ammunition is packed with plenty of stylistic deviation from the original songs.

Blasterjaxx deliver a rowdy bigroom take on “Marching On,” contrasting Carter Cruise’s trap tinged flip of the same track. 3Lau, meanwhile, brings an ethereal mid-tempo remix of “Can’t Forget You” to the table, and Kayzo’s version features stripped down verses and groovy future bass style drops. Diskord and Zatox take things in a radical direction with a heavy handed hardstyle “Beggars” remix, while Shady Moves drops a progressive house take on “Broken Record.”

The Light Between Oceans Review

Few actors in recent memory have exhibited the versatility of Alicia Vikander, who just last year played a mechanic fashionista double-agent (The Man From U.N.C.L.E.), the loyal wife of a transsexual trailblazer (The Danish Girl), and a spellbinding robot with a see-through belly (Ex Machina). The Swedish actor again unveils a new side of her in The Light Between Oceans, in which she plays a woman named Isabel Graysmark who wants so desperately to be a mother that she goes far beyond the reaches of morality.

Vikander, a classically trained ballerina, throws her entire body into the role, drawn like a magnet to her onscreen counterpart, Michael Fassbender, who plays her lover, Tom Sherbourne. A rattled veteran of World War I, Tom elects to lead a life of solitude, taking a position as a lighthouse keeper off the coast of Western Australia, but vivacious mainlander Isabel manages to capture his »

First-Person Mystery Game Firewatch Comes To Xbox One On September 21

Campo Santo’s breakout success Firewatch is making the jump to Xbox One later this month, the developer has announced. First released earlier this year on PlayStation 4 and PC, the first-person mystery title follows protagonist Henry, a married man who has taken a job as a fire lookout in 1980’s Wyoming after his other half has been diagnosed with early-onset dementia.

Things go well (as well as they can, at least) at first, but then strange happenings begin to occur – government research facilities, shady figures and dead bodies all start to mount up as time goes on. Of course, as those of you who have already had the joy of experiencing Firewatch will know, the rabbit hole goes deeper than that.

This port doesn’t just appeal to newcomers though – Campo Santo has included a few additional extras for the Xbox One version, including a making-of documentary that features commentary »

Nicky Romero Teases Upcoming Single “Take Me”

Nicky Romero is grabbing our attention again as he teases his upcoming single “Take Me,” due out next week. His latest effort is a collaboration with Arizona based singer/songwriter Colton Avery, and he’s revealed a minute and half long preview of the song ahead of its release.

“Take Me” opens with a bluesy guitar riff joined by Colton Avery’s smoky vocal delivery as steady kicks and haunting strings are layered underneath. Romero works the energy up as Avery’s vocals soar over melodic layers, leading into a progressive house drop with stuttered synth hits and four on the floor rhythms.

The preview gives us a pretty good idea of what to expect from the finished product and from what we hear so far, it appears Nicky Romero has another strong release on his hands.

“Take Me” will drop on September 9 via Protocol Recordings, but the pre-order is »

M.I.A. And Zayn Malik Link Up For “Freedun”

M.I.A. is linking up with Zayn Malik for a song that comes off her new album, Aim. The track titled, “Freedun,” was premiered on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show, and it’s now available on digital outlets everywhere.

M.I.A. went into a little more detail about the song during an interview after the premiere, saying that enlisting former One Direction star Malik brought her out of her comfort zone a little bit, and it brought him out of his a little bit, too. You can listen to the full interview with her here.

The duo may have been out of their comfort zone, but you wouldn’t have guessed it by hearing the track, as the confidence projected throughout “Freedun” sounds like they were right at home. That doesn’t mean that it’s your normal M.I.A. sounding song though.

Cash Cash’s “Millionaire” With Nelly Gets A Remix From Alan Walker

Following up on a number of top notch remixes over the summer for Marshmello’s “Alone” and Coldplay’s “Hymn For The Weekend,” Alan Walker is back with a new rework of Cash Cash’s single with Digital Farm Animals and Nelly, “Millionaire.” The song was originally heard back in June ahead of the release of Blood, Sweat and Three Years, and now the “Faded” producer has delivered a jubilant flip of the tune.

For his remix, Alan Walker ups the ante on the lighthearted sound of “Millionaire.” The new rework opens with the familiar chord progression and chanted vocal hook, shortly joined by Nelly’s rapping. Things stay relatively the same through the verse, before moving into horn driven drops that take the summery vibes to the next level.

Alan Walker is a producer who knows his way around a remix and his take on “Millionaire” does not disappoint. »

Dvbbs Return With New Single “Ur On My Mind”

Though the summer has been wrought with controversy and bad press for Dvbbs, the Canadian DJ duo are rising above as they return with a new single titled “Ur On My Mind.” Their latest effort continues the evolution of their sound following up on their single with Shaun Frank and Delaney Jane on “La La Land.”

“Ur On My Mind” features a sun soaked production, kicking off with a pleasing piano progression as club rhythms enter the mix. The beats cut out to make way for a catchy vocal track before a build up leads the tune into the drop, driven by four on the floor drum patterns, uplifting melody chops and a rolling bassline.

A far cry from tracks like “Tsunami” that brought Dvbbs to fame, the duo’s latest single sees them continuing to forge productions centered around poppy vocals and melody – and we definitely like what we hear. »

Spider-Man: Homecoming Veers Into Film Noir Territory With Badass New Set Pic

From the ballsy stunt videos to pictures of the cast and crew having fun on set, there’s an air of confidence emanating from Spider-Man: Homecoming that the Marvel reboot could, perhaps, go down as the best Spidey film to date.

It’s a bullish prediction – one made by Civil War co-director Anthony Russo – but even if Jon Watts’ 2017 standalone pic is shouldering a hefty weight of expectation, it doesn’t show. Taking to his lively Instagram feed, lead star Tom Holland has shared a new and striking shot of your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man perched atop a wall with mask in hand. It’s a stylish image that wouldn’t look out of place in Christopher Nolan’s Batman universe.

Thanking Homecoming‘s creative team for making him look “badass,” here is Holland’s post in full.

Thank you to @georgejcottle and his amazing team for making me look like a badass. »

Fighting out of the same corner in System Rift, Mankind Divided‘s maiden expansion is described as so: “Desperate to get more information, Pritchard targets one of the most secure data banks ever created – the Palisade Blade. In agreeing to help, Adam may also be able to uncover hints as to who the illuminati really are.”

Zedd Gets The “Adrenaline” Pumping On New Single With Grey

Zedd is back with an electrifying new release this week, delivering a hard hitting electro track titled “Adrenaline.” In the SoundCloud description, the True Colors producer explains that due to label complications he was unable to officially credit his collaborators Grey, but he makes sure to drop a nod to the duo.

“Adrenaline” will definitely get the blood pumping in your veins with its thundering beats and blistering bass. The new single kicks off with rousing tabla rhythms, as an ominous horn melody joins the mix. After an energetic introduction, Zedd and Grey break things down and work in a rising progressive synth pattern that leads into a powerful drop. The producers then bring things to an exciting climax with punchy beats, whining synths and crunchy bass.

Zedd and Grey deliver a satisfying romp on “Adrenaline,” with the only downside being that the less than three minute track is over way too soon. »

It’s time to start the weekend off right with a new Alicia Keys song. The singer shared a fresh track today called “Back To Life,” which will be featured on the upcoming soundtrack to the Disney film, Queen of Katwe. Directed by Academy Award-nominated Mira Nair, Queen of Katwe is a biographical drama about the life of Phiona Mutesi, a Ugandan chess player.

Though the movie isn’t going to be out for another couple of weeks, “Back To Life” should be able to hold you over until then. Speaking about the creation of the song, Keys said that the inspiration for it came from Mutesi’s powerful story, and that when women are empowered, the world changes. The ballad is indeed powerful, and Keys’ voice shines throughout.

Ty Dolla $ign is keeping the flow of new music steady, premiering another new track off his upcoming mixtape, Campaign, which will be out on September 23rd. The song, “3 Wayz,” features a guest appearance from rapper Travis Scott.

“3 Wayz,” produced by Hit-Boy, is perhaps one of the catchiest cuts we’ve heard from Campaign thus far, and Scott adds a personality to it that we haven’t quite seen from a Ty song lately.

Joining Scott, other features on Ty Dolla $ign’s Campaign will include Future, Meek Mill, Migos and more. Campaign, the rapper’s first commercial mixtape, is going to follow up his debut full-length record, Free Tc, which dropped in November of last year and peaked at number fourteen on the Billboard 200 chart. Will his mixtape chart higher? Time will tell.

Aokigahara Beckons In First Trailer For The People Garden

Gotham Season 3 Promo May Tease Proto-Killer Croc

This latest teaser for the upcoming third season of Gotham contains plenty of new footage, and may feature our first glimpse at a certain reptilian villain that recently made his big-screen debut in Suicide Squad.

Set to a haunting rendition of Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters,” the majority of the promo is made up of shots of some of the bad guys that are going to be causing trouble for former copper Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and his allies when the show returns towards the end of the month.

We see some well-known characters such as Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith) and Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor), but there’s also brief flashes of our new, grown-up Poison Ivy (Maggie Geha), and a creature that may just be this early take on Killer Croc we’ve been hearing about.

A few weeks back, the show’s EPs confirmed that we would »
