The Last Word: Jeff Bridges on Dylan, the Dude and Surviving Box-Office Duds

In the six years since he reunited with the Coen Brothers for a brilliant remake of the classic John Wayne western True Grit, Jeff Bridges has struggled to connect with audiences in multiplexes, releasing little-seen flicks like R.I.P.D. and Seventh Son. But right now he's starring in one of the most critically-acclaimed movies of the year, the neo-western Hell or High Water. He plays a U.S. marshal days away from retirement that tracks a pair of bank robbers (Chris Pine, Ben Foster) across Texas. We spoke to Bridges about »

'Broad City' Preps 'Original Series Soundtrack'

Broad City writer-stars Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson have teamed with music supervisor Matt FX Feldman to executive produce the show's Original Series Soundtrack, out October 28th via Milan Records/Comedy Central Records.

"When I first started working on the show, our resources were so low to the point where working with unsigned and unknown artists was the only way we could possibly afford to score an entire episode the way we wanted," Feldman tells Rolling Stone. "These days, I see it almost as an obligation to keep the platform growing. »

Watch Britney Spears Join James Corden for 'Carpool Karaoke'

Britney Spears was the latest pop artist to sit shotgun with current Rolling Stone cover star James Corden for "Carpool Karaoke." The pair cruised around singing Spears' hits like "Toxic," "Womanizer," "Oops!... I Did It Again" and Glory single "Make Me."

During the ride, Spears revealed that she wants to have three more kids in addition to her nine- and 10-year olds. "All that she wants is another baby," Spears sings impromptu, quoting Ace of Base. But she hasn't found the right guy yet. When asked who her ideal man is, »

Watch First Gripping 11 Minutes of 'Narcos' Season Two

Netflix's Narcos premiered an exclusive look at the show's first episode of Season Two via a Facebook live broadcast on Thursday.

In a meta move, the clever clip appears as if it's shot as "live-to-tape" as DEA agents find Pablo Escobar's (played by Wagner Moura) hidden Season Two videotapes. The agents put the tape in a Vcr, which then broadcasts the first 11 minutes of the first episode.

Like its first trailer, the scene opens with DEA agent Steve Murphy (portrayed by Boyd Holbrook) marveling at the Columbian cocaine kingpin's escape from prison, »

Watch 'Documentary Now' Parody Talking Heads, Maysles in New Trailer

Fred Armisen and Bill Hader spoof the Talking Heads, D.A. Pennebaker, the Maysles Brothers and more in the new trailer for Season Two (or "Season 51") of Documentary Now!

The clip opens with host Helen Mirren reintroducing the "long-running" documentary showcase and offers a peak at Hader and Armisen's absurd parodies. Among the highlights are the duo's expertly retro takes on the Maysles' Salesman, in which Hader and Armisen play inept globe salesmen ("It says 'Bermuba' instead of 'Bermuda,'" a young boy points out).

The trailer finds Armisen and Hader »

'The Hollars' Review: All-Star Cast Props Up Indie Grief Drama

John Krasinski, as actor and director, tackles the most clichéd genre in the movie business — the dysfunctional family dramedy. The big difference is he pulls it off with uncommon humor and compassion. The plot from screenwriter Jim Strouse (Grace Is Gone) spins this way: John Hollar (Krasinski), a graphic novelist living in Manhattan with his pregnant, pet-clothing designer girlfriend Becca (Anna Kendrick), gets a disturbing call from home. The emergency involves his mother, Sally (Margo Martindale), who has suffered a seizure while curling her hair. In the hospital, Dr. Fong »

'Don't Breathe' Review: Home-Invasion Thriller Will Scare You Sightless

This is some weird, twisted shit. Don't groan when I say Don't Breathe is a home-invasion thriller. Uruguayan writer-director Fede Alvarez, of 2013's gory Evil Dead remake, is as good as it gets when it comes to playing with the toys of the genre. The setup is pure cliché: Three teen burglars — Alex (Dylan Minnette), Rocky (Jane Levy), and her boyfriend Money (Daniel Zovatto) — break into the creepy Detroit home of a blind Iraq vet and try to rob the dude while he's sleeping. Alex, who has an unrequited crush on Rocky, »

The bipartisan badgerer has roasted Mike Huckabee, annoyed Ted Cruz and gone viral with videos toying with gullible Trump fans and sensitive college liberals alike — all »

Watch Anthrax Torch 'Late Night' With Raging 'Monster at the End'

25 August 2016 8:32 AM, PDT

Thrash metal progenitors Anthrax tore through a terrifying rendition of their new track "Monster at the End" on Late Night With Seth Meyers Wednesday.

Frontman Joey Belladonna manned the chugging track with ominous, anthemic verve while the performance also highlighted the interplay between longtime guitarist Scott Ian and relatively new lead guitarist Jonathan Donais. The duo unleashed a menacing duel during the bridge, while Ian later anchored Donais' head-spinning solo.

"Monster at the End" appears on Anthrax's new album, For All Kings, which was released in February and marks their first since 2011's Worship Music. »

Hear Stephen Colbert's Wild Conspiracy Theory About Hillary Clinton

25 August 2016 7:17 AM, PDT

Stephen Colbert descended into his truth bunker and debuted a new conspiracy theory segment called "Tinfoil Hat" on The Late Show Wednesday.

The bit was prompted by Donald Trump's recent suggestions that the 2016 election could be rigged, as well unsubstantiated claims from him and allies like Karl Rove about Hillary Clinton's health. Colbert was more than ready to bust these conspiracies wide open. "Welcome to the Truth Bunker," Colbert declared. "Here I share the secret truths they don't want you to know, and I actually don't know."

Watch Penn and Teller Reveal Trade Secrets to James Corden

25 August 2016 6:32 AM, PDT

Penn and Teller pulled back the curtain on their classic trick "Lift Off of Love" during a performance on The Late Late Show Wednesday.

The magicians first performed a straightforward version of the body separation illusion. Teller squeezed inside a set of small boxes covered with the illustration of an astronaut. His limbs and face continue to pop out of various openings as Penn Jillette separates the parts and moves them around the stage.

The pair then gleefully deconstructed the illusion by bringing out a replica set of translucent boxes, »

'Mr Robot' Recap: The Woman Behind the Curtain

25 August 2016 5:30 AM, PDT

Well, damn.

Apparently all Mr. Robot needed to shock the crap out of us again was to take a break from Elliot and his Mind Palace. After last week's disappointing "Brain prison has been real prison all along!" episode, the show leaves the be-hoodied boy wonder off camera entirely to focus on the other Alderson sibling: the magnetic but mysterious Darlene. And lest you thought all the crazy wound up on her brother's side of the gene pool, boy, have we got a tale for you.

We're familiar with Elliot's »

'Southside With You' Review: Romantic Indie Recreates When Barack Met Michelle

24 August 2016 10:30 AM, PDT

Here's the date movie of the year. Southside With You is also about a date, a first date in the Chicago summer of 1989 between the then-unknown Barack Obama (Parker Sawyers) and Michelle Robinson (Tika Sumpter). Both Sawyers and Sumpter are terrific, world-class charmers who suggest the powerhouses they're playing without undue mimickry.

First-time writer-director Richard Tanne wisely avoids any political agenda to focus on two young lawyers starting out in life. The guarded, whip-smart Michelle is adamant about telling the flirtatious Barack, "This is not a date." The man she »

'Hands of Stone' Review: Roberto Duran Biopic Is No 'Raging Bull'

24 August 2016 10:00 AM, PDT

Boxing movies — the classic Raging Bull excepted — tend to punch the same way: Underdog hits it big, then blows it before launching a comeback. From Rocky to Creed, that's been the drill. Hands of Stone, the true story of 1970's lightweight champ Roberto Duran (Edgar Ramirez), never strays far from the path. But the Venezuelan-born writer-director Jonathan Jakubowicz (Secuestro Express) knows how to muscle up momentum and bring the best out of actors.

Ramirez (Carlos) excels as Duran, the natural street brawler from Panama whose hot temper often gets the best of him. »

How James Corden Conquered Late Night One 'Carpool Karaoke' at a Time

24 August 2016 7:00 AM, PDT

Matt Damon is running toward the rooftop railing of an L.A. building, and people are afraid he's gonna die. James Corden is not one of them. Damon is reprising Jason Bourne, walking fast and looking over the right shoulder of his scuffed brown leather jacket. He then runs into a plump Brit who's dressed exactly the same. Damon smiles. It's Corden, the host of CBS' The Late Late Show, and the proud son of Hazlemere, Buckinghamshire, in England's unfashionable Home Counties. It's an hour before the taping of Corden's show, »

24 August 2016 7:00 AM, PDT

It's been 11 years since the last Americanized remake of the popular Japanese horror franchise The Ring. Now hearing the chilling phrase "seven days" over the phone is an unmistakable death sentence in the trailer for the latest installment, Rings

'Southside With You': How a Rom-Com Recreates the Obamas' First Date

24 August 2016 5:30 AM, PDT

Even Michelle Obama has to use deodorant.

That's how the indie romantic comedy-drama Southside With You introduces its not-yet-famous female heroine: She's applying perspiration protection to her underarms. The year is 1989, and the future First Lady is gearing up for what she will repeatedly insist is not a date. She's simply going to meet up with the newest addition to the Chicago law firm she works at, a Dumbo-eared charmer named Barack Obama. We know what happens after that. But as the tranquil opening moments suggest, this movie takes far »
