‘Voyage of Time’ Trailer: Terrence Malick’s Ambitious IMAX Documentary Looks Stunning

38 minutes ago | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

After what feels like an eternity, the “Voyage of Time: Life’s Journey” trailer is finally here. Empire posted the video for writer-director Terrence Malick’s decades-in-the-making documentary Friday, and the movie looks every bit as stunning as fans of Malick would expect. The film hits theaters on October 7.

“Voyage of Time” is a history of the cosmos that covers the whole of time, from the Big Bang to the birth of human life to the collapse of the universe (whenever that happens). Malick’s first documentary was rumored to be headed to Cannes this year before being notably absent from the lineup.

Distributor Broad Green is releasing it in two formats: A 40-minute IMAX version narrated by Brad Pitt, whose Plan B helped produce the movie, and a feature-length version narrated by Cate Blanchett. “Voyage of Time” Director of Photography also shot Malick’s previous film, “Knight of Cups, »

The title is a reference to members of Alcoholics Anonymous—the “Bill” or “Bill W.” in question is the organization’s co-founder, William Griffith Wilson. Caplan will play an alcoholic writer who, after being arrested for public intoxication, withdraws to her ...

First Look At Brad Pitt’s Allied

12 August 2016 3:25 PM, PDT | www.themoviebit.com | See recent TheMovieBit news »

Continuing his run of live action movies post-his fascination with motion capture, Robert Zemeckis is heading to World War II with his latest movie, Allied, bringing Bard Pitt and Marion Cotillard along for the ride as an intelligence officer and French resistance fighter whose relationship is put under pressure by the war raging around them. The first, brief look at the film has come our way, and there is a lot to like about what is on offer here. A director of Zemeckis’ caliber working with two impeccable actors like Pitt and Cotillard is certainly an exciting prospect, and this WWII romance/spy thriller should live up to their respective talents. Mel Gibson's Hacksaw Ridge isn't the only World War II-set film that's arriving in theaters this November -- Back to the Future and Forrest Gump director Robert Zemeckis has one too... and it's got Brad Pitt in it. The first teaser trailer for Allied has arrived online, revealing what looks more like a spy thriller than a war picture as it tracks the story of a spy assassin (Pitt) who falls for a French spy (Marion Cotillard) while on an assignment to take out a German official. Their love for one another is tested as the war threatens to tear them apart at any moment. Check it out.   This is the second film in two years for Robert Zemeckis (his The Walk hit theaters in October of last year), which seems like a lot but something we've seen from...

Rogue One, Arrival, Allied and more in our weekly trailer round-up!Rogue One, Arrival, Allied and more in our weekly trailer round-up!Adriana Floridia8/12/2016 12:53:00 Pm

This week was a big one for movie trailers.

First off, last night, the highly anticipated Rogue One trailer finally debuted. Many of us sat around on our computers all night waiting for the event, and the trailer did not disappoint. We're pretty spoiled to have another new Star Wars movie this year, and as much as we loved The Force Awakens, this one might look even better.

Besides Rogue One, we also saw new trailers for Disney's Moana, a new red-band trailer for Bad Santa 2, and new trailers for Denis Villeneuve's Arrival, and Robert Zemeckis' Allied. Check out all of this week's new trailers below!

Robert Zemeckis‘ last movie, The Walk, sank down and disappeared without a trace, but maybe his next one will have better luck staying afloat. It surely helps that Allied boasts the combined beauty and star power of Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard, who play spies in World War II. ‘Allied’ Trailer: Brad Pitt & Marion Cotillard Go Full-On Casablanca In WWII Thriller

Sitting dead-center in Brad Pitt’s fan-favorite WWII comfort zone, this new teaser trailer for Robert ZemeckisAllied should put plenty of folks in mind of Pitt’s hits. The Paramount Pictures release pairs Pitt with Marion Cotillard as two very stylish WWII spies, lending the clip a decided Inglourious Basterds meets Mr. and Mrs. Smith vibe, topped with some floppy River Runs Through It hair. “They’re watching us,” says Cotillard, in full-on Casablanca mode. “Now kiss… »

Coming Distractions: Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard look hot, fight Nazis in the Allied teaser

12 August 2016 9:40 AM, PDT | avclub.com | See recent The AV Club news »

Because WWII will never grow old when it comes to awards-season releases, here’s the trailer for Allied, in which Marion Cotillard and Brad Pitt team up to fight Nazis and look glamorous. Cotillard plays Marianne Beausejour, a French Resistance fighter who uses her charm as an asset alongside her excellent shooting skills. Pitt is Max Vatan, an intelligence officer. His first line is about how he heard she was “beautiful,” officially crowning him Captain Obvious. Together, they fire guns in formalwear, make out, and get married. But the latter half of the trailer seems to imply something is awry. Perhaps those suspicious glances imply Marianne is not what she seems?

Robert Zemeckis—fresh off his technically wondrous flop The Walk—directed this film from a screenplay by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight. Allied slinks into theaters November 27.

Brad Pitt's Allied Gets Teaser Trailer: Why It Already Looks Like a Dramatic Version of Mr. and Mrs. Smith

12 August 2016 9:23 AM, PDT | E! Online | See recent E! Online news »

Brad Pitt is putting his spy hat on yet again. No stranger to war movies, having appeared in Inglourious Basterds and Fury, Pitt has learned a thing or two about war and spies. In his upcoming movie, Allied, Pitt stars as an intelligence officer in North Africa who forms a relationship with a French resistance fighter played by Marion Cotillard. With the pressures of war looming over them, Pitt and Cotillard's relationship becomes a risk. If the plot seems vaguely familiar, you wouldn't be wrong. A drama film taking place in the height of World War II, Allied still manages to give give us Mr. and Mrs. Smith vibes, if only because of the chemistry between Pitt and Cotillard, as well as the whole spy plot. »

Brad Pitt, Marion Cotillard Are Spies in Love in ‘Allied’ First Trailer

12 August 2016 8:35 AM, PDT | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard are spies in love in the tense first trailer for Robert Zemeckis’ World War II romantic thriller “Allied.”

“Is this a game?” Pitt asks in the 60-second teaser, released by Paramount Pictures on Friday. “A test,” he’s told.

Pitt stars as a U.S. intelligence officer Max Vatan who encounters French Resistance fighter Marianne Beausejour (Cotillard) during a mission behind enemy lines in Casablanca in 1942 to kill a German ambassador. They’re forced into a pretend marriage that develops into a real love eventually tested, when they reunite in London, by the pressures of war and the secrets of their past.

Pitt returns to WWII after his recent turn as American tank commander Sgt. Don “Wardaddy” Collier in David Ayer’s drama “Fury” and Lt. Aldo Raine in Quentin Tarantino’s 2009 alternate history movie “Inglourious Basterds.”

Watch: Teaser Trailer for Robert Zemeckis' 'Allied' Featuring Brad Pitt

"Is this a game? A test?" Paramount has debuted the first teaser trailer for the new Robert Zemeckis film, a passionate love story set during World War II called Allied. Brad Pitt stars as an intelligence officer stationed in North Africa in 1942, who encounters a French Resistance fighter named Marianne Beausejour on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. They later reunite in London but the war still stands in the way. Marion Cotillard also stars, with Lizzy Caplan, Matthew Goode, Raffey Cassidy, Charlotte Hope and Jared Harris. This looks like it's much more about the romance than it is about war, but I'm intrigued to see what Zemeckis has been up to with Pitt and if his latest feature film is any good. Take a look below.
