'Pets' screening to benefit Essex County rescue organization

'Pets' screening to benefit local rescue organization

Daniel's Dream will hold a private screening of "The Secret Life of Pets" on Aug. 20 at Bow-Tie's Bellevue Cinema 4 located at 260 Bellevue Ave. in Montclair.

Proceeds benefit local dog rescue organization, Daniel's Dream.

"The Secret Life of Pets" is the latest film from Illumination Studios that answers the age old question - what do our pets do while we are at work or school? Audiences are introduced to Max, a pup who was rescued by his favorite human and enjoys an idyllic life with his human until one day she brings home shelter pup Duke, turning Max's world upside down. Though Max and Duke do not initially get along, an adventure brings the pups together as they are rescued by their friends. The film shows the importance of dog rescue, and reminds us that the family we originally were a part of may not be where we end up, and that can be a beautiful thing. In the spirit of dog rescue, this filmƒs lessons are relevant to both adult and child.

Doors open at 10 a.m., and the film is set to begin at 10:30. Admission is $15.

A line will start forming at 10 a.m. to ensure first come, first serve on seating. It's suggested that guests make reservations ahead of time by calling Daniel's Dream Fundraising Coordinator, Jamie Conway, at 862-368-4846, or by emailing her at danielsdreamevents@gmail.com.
