Jason Clarke is in talks to co-star with Keira Knightley and Alexander Skarsgard in the Scott Free production “The Aftermath.”

Sources say Fox Searchlight is in negotiations to land the pic with James Kent set to direct.

Based on the Rhidian Brook novel, the story is set in post-war Germany in 1946 where a woman, Rachael, arrives with her only remaining son in the ruins of Hamburg. There she is reunited with her husband, a British colonel named Lewis, who is charged with rebuilding the shattered city. But as they set off for their new home, Rachael is stunned to discover that they will be sharing the house with its previous owners, a German widower and his troubled daughter.

Ridley Scott will produce through his Scott Free banner.

Clarke is coming off a busy 2015 with starring roles in “Everest” and “Terminator Genisys,” and can be seen next in the WWII thriller “HHhH” as well as the film “All I See is You” opposite Blake Lively which premieres next month at the Toronto Film Festival.

He recently shot on to the period movie “Mudbound” opposite Carey Mulligan and is about to star production on “Chappaquiddick” where he stars as Sen. Ted Kennedy.

He is repped by WME, Robert Stein Management and attorney Carlos Goodman.
