Refer to this app almost daily
Love IMDb and seriously go to it nearly everyday to look up the names of actors or see what reviewers are saying or to win/lose a bet on some movie trivia debate my husband and I may be having. It's great to have easily attainable information on movies & television or actors/producers/directors/writers. Having spoiler alert notices on the reviews is a big plus, & not always because I don't want to know the outcome, but sometimes do want to know so I don't waste more time watching.
I rated it four instead of five stars because of the new photo layout, with info to the side & really not user-friendly. The way it was before was what readers are used to, our eyes travel under the photo for information almost always in magazines, online articles, newspapers, etc. I don't browse through the pictures nearly as often because it's so awkward & not as easy to scan for specific pictures. I've wondered if I inadvertently clicked to change it because I can't imagine IMDb making it the default layout.
Anyway, the app is great otherwise, loaded with tons of information. I can highly recommend.
Must Have for anyone who enjoys TV and movies
My favorite app. I go to it multiple times a day. Has all the answers to any question I have regarding movies and tv. Great way to find out about new movies as well as finding a hidden gem that may have slipped through the cracks. Makes it easy to follow the work of writers, directors, actors, or anyone involved with the medium. An absolute MUST HAVE app for anyone who enjoys entertainers as well as entertainment.
My only negatives are message board trolls (which are a problem on ANY message board so nothing against the app or IMDB), and the pirated movie streaming spam that now flood these same message boards--again, no real knock on IMDB, there are degenerates everywhere that 'just want to see the world burn'....Thank you, IMDB--your app brings me a lot of happiness and makes researching entertainment a cinch.
One-stop Film & TV Resource
Overall a great app that provides the most up-to-date info on all television & film projects & affiliates.
Downsides: the app used to be able to let you follow individual actors/people, as well as movies/shows, but not any more (very disappointing); it automatically resets to the home page if you're inactive, so your prior search has to done over; unable to search by awards of any given project or year (only subsequently under a specific project/recipient). All these could easily be adjusted with a few newly incorporated algorithms.
