Move-in ready Oakland home attracts multiple offers
The listing: Three-bedroom ranch
Location: Oakland
Listed by: Susan DiDonato of Coldwell Banker in Wyckoff
On the market: Two weeks
Asking price: $399,000
The game plan: The home had hardwood floors, central air conditioning, a deck and updated kitchen and baths. DiDonato listed the home on the New Jersey Multiple Listing Service and advertised it on the Internet.
The seller wanted a quick sale and suggested an asking price of $350,000. But DiDonato believed that, based on the competing properties on the market, the house could sell for more.
"I felt confident it could get $399,000," said DiDonato. "The kitchen and bath were new. Somebody could just move into that house."
After the first open house, seven buyers made offers.
The result: Another agent brought in the buyer and the home sold for $410,000.
