Vicious Middleware

Robotech: Battlecry developer releasing development solution.

When it comes to current and next-generation development, middlware solutions are the norm, rather than the exception. Developer Vicious Cycle continues that philosophy through their upcoming Vicious Engine for PlayStation 2, PC, Xbox and PSP.

Vicious Cycle's own development of Robotech: Battlecry, Robotech: Invasion, and Spy Vs Spy prompted the company to realize the flexibility of their own tools.

"Realizing how straightforward and versatile our tools have been for us, we believe that the Vicious Engine can be a benefit for other companies as well," said Eric Peterson, President of Vicious Cycle. "By utilizing a dependable engine that has a proven track record, our customers will be granted the time they need to concentrate on better gameplay and quality production value."

Built for both long and short production scheduled, the Vicious Engine intends to allow artists, designers and engineers to properly collaborate. The middleware package includes a point and click scripting system, graphics engine, online multiplayer support, and collision and physics solutions.

Vicious Cycle intends to release Vicious Engine this summer, but developers looking for an early preview should visit www.viciousengine.com for additional information.
