Rumour: The CW wants Constantine, Batwoman, Oracle and even Batman for the Arrowverse

With the San Diego Comic-Con fast approaching, it’s only natural for rumours to start popping up suggesting what big announcements could be in store from the studios and networks at the pop culture event. Well, here’s a rather huge one concerning The CW’s Arrowverse, which comes by way of Bleeding Cool, who have a decent(ish) track record when it comes to DC’s small screen projects.

According to the site, The CW’s new acquisition Supergirl is set to see the addition of Kate Kane / Batwoman and Barbara Gordon / Oracle, and their will be modeled after Chuck Dixon’s Birds of Prey, albeit with Batwoman instead of Black Canary. Supergirl has recently cast the character of Maggie Sawyer, who has been in a relationship with Batwoman in the comic books, so it would not be too surprising if Kate Kane soon followed.

Rumour: Batman solo movie will take place in Arkham Asylum

Despite the fact it still doesn’t have a completed script, the rumour sites have already tossed up plenty of speculation about Ben Affleck’s solo Batman movie, with previous reports claiming that it will incorporate elements of the comic book stories A Death in the Family and Under the Red Hood, and / or feature “most” of the Dark Knight’s Rogues Gallery.

Well, we now have another rumour courtesy of Batman-On-Film, which suggests that the film will “involve Batman being locked up in Arkham” for at least a portion of the film. The report also states that it’s unlikely to be a straight-up adaptation of the Batman: Arkham Asylum video game, nor Grant Morrison’s Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth.

While the rumour should be taken with a pinch of salt for the time being, it would certainly allow for many of Batman’s biggest foes to appear. »

Kathleen Kennedy doesn’t think we’ll see an opening crawl in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

“You know, we’re in the midst of talking about it, but I don’t think these films will have an opening crawl,” said Kennedy with regards to Rogue One and future Anthology movies such as the Han Solo film. “I think that’s what we kind of telegraphed at the beginning of the event today.”

Director Gareth Edwards was less committal, replying that: “I think basically there’s a lot of things that I probably can’t talk about, is probably the safest way to answer that. The idea is this film is supposed to be different than the saga films…the whole crawl »
