Phoebe Fox joins Sam Rockwell in 'Blue Iguana'

Exclusive: Woman In Black 2 star joins comedy, which is set to shoot this month.

Phoebe Fox has joined Sam Rockwell in Blue Iguana, a comedy from writer-director Hadi Hajaig, who last directed Charlotte Rampling-Sean Bean thriller Cleanskin in 2012.

The project, which will be financed by UK Film Studio Productions, will start principal photography in London this month.

Hajaig also produces with 3 Arts Entertainment’s Tom Lassally, who is also working on the Edge of Tomorrow sequel at Warner Bros.

The black comedy centres on a low level criminal (Rockwell) with no future who is just out of prison. Fox will play a low level lawyer who falls in love with him. The cast also includes comedy actor Ben Schwartz (Parks & Recreation, House Of Lies).

GKids Buys U.S. Rights to Annecy Winner ‘Miss Hokusai’

GKids has acquired U.S. distribution rights to the Japanese animated drama “Miss Hokusai,” which won the jury prize at last year’s Annecy Film Festival.

Miss Hokusai” will be released on Oct. 14 in New York and Los Angeles prior to a North American expansion. The production company is Production I. G.

The film, directed by Keiichi Hara, won the top jury and audience awards at the Fantasia Film Festival, and won best animated feature at Sitges and best animated feature at the Asia Pacifica Screen Awards.

Armie Hammer’s Military Thriller ‘Mine’ Bought by Well Go USA

Well Go USA Entertainment has bought North American rights to Armie Hammer’s military thriller “Mine.”

Fabio Guaglione and Fabio Resinaro directed from their own script. The producer is Peter Safran, who produced “The Conjuring” movies and “Annabelle.”

Hammer, who will be seen in Nate Parker’s “The Birth of a Nation,” stars as a U.S. soldier who, stranded after a mission goes awry, must single-handedly battle for survival against his enemies, the unforgiving desert environment, and the creeping psychological toll of his treacherous situation. The film co-stars Annabelle Wallis and Tom Cullen.

The film will debut on the fall festival circuit prior to its theatrical, digital, and home video release throughout the U.S. and Canada.

‘Ghostbusters’ 3-D Screening Stops After Technical Glitch in New York

There was something strange in the neighborhood of Manhattan’s Upper West Side Thursday when Columbia Pictures’ “Ghostbusters” 3-D press screening halted shortly after it began.

Members of the media watched the first nine minutes of the film, which was not playing in 3-D, with a Windows icon visible at the bottom of the screen. Then the movie stopped completely.

Roughly 10 minutes later, the film started over, this time in 3-D. The showing was the first of two Thursday night, but the only one that was scheduled to be shown in 3-D. The press screening was held at the AMC Loews Lincoln Square 13 on Broadway between 67th and 68th streets.

This technical hiccup was particularly unfortunate for Columbia Pictures. The studio has been performing damage control for months following a backlash that began after the release of the film’s first trailer. Many fans of the franchise were incensed by »
