How important is video to you? Do we need it in still cameras?

I am not pushing a particular barrow, just interested in the responses. For me, video in my still camera is an unwanted extra that comes with an increase in price ( can anyone knowledgeably say how much video adds to the price of a camera like the A7rii?) Maybe its the case that with modern electronics the additional cost of including  video is so small that it might as well be included?

Video also adds menu complexity that I'd be happy to do without. For mine, the form factor of dslr type bodies isn't what I'd want if I was a regular  video shooter but then those who shoot video a lot will have more informed views on this than I.

I understand that some users will want the versatility of having video and still in the one body and I know/accept that there is a market for these.

I'd be happy to see something like the A7Rii  or rumoured A9 without video and at a lower price. How much lower that might be I have no idea???

Or maybe a choice of with and without models? I think I'd be very happy with a top end camera without video for my serious work and something like, maybe the A6000 that included video for my odd bit of video use.
