Indiana Jones 5 Is Not the Final Movie Promises Disney CEO

After Disney acquired LucasFilm for a whopping $4 billion back in 2012, that gave the studio the rights to keep building on the Star Wars franchise, but it didn't include the company's other iconic character, Indiana Jones. Paramount still retained the rights to the that franchise, though over the past few years, there have been rumors that Disney could eventually take control of the franchise and give fans Indiana Jones 5. Those rumors came to an end in March, when Disney confirmed a 2019 release date, with Harrison Ford returning to star and Steven Spielberg set to direct. The question that remains, though, is will Indiana Jones 5 be the last movie in this sprawling adventure saga?

Bob Iger, who has overseen the company's purchases of Pixar, Marvel and LucasFilm through his 11-year tenure as Disney CEO, was recently profiled by The Hollywood Reporter, who asked if he sees the Indiana Jones franchise »

Neon Demon Review: A Violent, Distressing, Visceral Thriller

Most people know Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn from his 2011 breakout hit Drive, which starred Ryan Gosling and was easily one of the best movies of that year. Since then, his offerings have been a little less solid, mostly due to the fact that they are not designed to be consumed by a mass audience. The Neon Demon certainly fits that bill and good or bad, will wind up being a movie that you will never be able to forget and will likely wind up as one of the most talked about movies of the year.

The Neon Demon tells the story of a young woman named Jesse (Elle Fanning), who has just moved to Los Angeles with hopes of becoming a famous model. She becomes friends with a makeup artist named Ruby (Jena Malone) who introduces her to some of the other girls in the La modeling scene and »

Anton Yelchin's Death Officially Ruled an Accident

The Hollywood community was dealt a very serious and shocking blow on Sunday when 27-year-old actor Anton Yelchin was declared dead in a freak car accident at his home. Though it is still early and a lot is still being revealed about the exact circumstances that led to the incident, we are starting to get a better picture of what exactly happened. According to the coroner, Yelchin's death has been determined to be accidental.

The report comes courtesy of People. According to the report, Yelchin died of accidental "blunt traumatic asphyxia," confirmed Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter of the Los Angeles County coroner's office. Prior to the coroner's report, there was no foul play expected in the Star Trek actor's death, but this does lend some credibility to the possibility that Yelchin's 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which had a recall issued by Fiat Chrysler, had something to do with the incident. »

Bryan Cranston Is Zordon in the Power Rangers Movie

Shooting has been under way since late February on Lionsgate's Power Rangers movie, and we assumed that the entire cast had been locked down prior to production starting. As it turns out, the studio still has a few tricks up their sleeve, with Bryan Cranston coming aboard to play Zordon. We're not sure at this time if Zordon will be portrayed as he was in the original series, but Zordon serves as the Power Rangers' mentor.

In the original Power Rangers series, Zordon battled with the nefarious Rita Repulsa (Elizabeth Banks), where Rita trapped Zordon in a time warp, while Zordon sends Rita and her minions away to a dumpster on the moon. Zordon established a command center outside of Angel Grove, California, with the help of his robot assistant Alpha 5, which ultimately lead to the creation of the Power Rangers. In the original series, Zordon was portrayed as a hologram, »

Warner Bros. is looking to move on from the disappointment that was Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. But with Suicide Squad on the way soon as well as Wonder Woman and Justice League due out next, Warner Bros. is focused on what lies ahead. And today, we get a sneak peek at that impending future.

Even though there is a lot of news coming out about Zack Snyder's Justice League thanks to a recent batch of set visits, Warner Bros. is also at the Licensing Expo in Las Vegas this week, and they have their DC Comics films on full display. Here's How Star Wars Merchandise Is Improving the Global Economy

For as long as people have been loving Star Wars movies, people have also been loving Star Wars merchandise. It didn't really matter that there was a massive gap between Revenge of the Sith and The Force Awakens, because there was always something Star Wars related to buy. That being said, Episode 7 did usher in a whole lot of new Star Wars merch for us to enjoy. And as it turns out, we enjoyed it an awful lot, as it helped boost licensed merchandise sales worldwide in 2015, helping to improve the global economy.

In a recent report, Deadline notes that the swell of merchandise Disney released in relation to a galaxy far far away last year was responsible for a huge bump in overall, global merchandise sales. Worldwide retail sales of licensed merchandise increased by 4.2 percent last year, and that was largely thanks to Star Wars. The information was released »

Batman Movie Won't Happen Until the Script Is Perfect Says Affleck

Back in April during Warner Bros.' CinemaCon presentation, CEO Kevin Tsujihara confirmed that Ben Affleck's Batman Reboot is in fact happening. While Warner Bros. hasn't confirmed a release date at this time, the studio did earmark two unspecified DC movies for release on October 5, 2018 and November 1, 2019, one of which many believe to be this Batman reboot. During an interview on the set of Justice League, Ben Affleck did confirm that he will direct, star and co-write the script with Geoff Johns, but the movie may not be ready in time to hit either of those dates.

Collider spoke with Ben Affleck on the set of Justice League last week, where he teased that Warner Bros. does have a release date in mind for his solo Batman movie, but he doesn't think he can make that date. The actor/filmmaker also teased that he doesn't want to move forward »

Dredd 2 Is in Development Says Karl Urban

Some sequels exist solely in the minds of movie fans who love to keep them alive via rumors on the Internet. Dredd 2 is one of those sequels. The original reboot, which hit theaters in 2012, wasn't exactly a box office hit, taking in just $13 million in the states, and another $22.2 million overseas for a worldwide take of just $35.6 million. Not even coming close to its reported $50 million budget. But the movie was well received by fans and critics alike, and there has been talk about a follow-up ever since. Now, comes some encouraging words from its star, Karl Urban.

While Dredd bombed at the box office, it later found its audience on home video and streaming, becoming a true cult classic in its own right. But Lionsgate, the studio behind the comic book adaption, has never sounded confident in putting up more money for something that arrived as such a monumental failure. »

Will Independence Day 2 Destroy Finding Dory at the Box Office?

21 June 2016 9:50 AM, PDT

After several weeks of underperforming sequels, including Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, X-Men: Apocalypse, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, Pixar's Finding Dory helped breathe new life into the summer box office with a whopping $135 million opening weekend. This weekend, the lovable yet forgetful fish squares off against four new movies all opening in wide release, 20th Century Fox's Independence Day: Resurgence, Sony's The Shallows, Stx Entertainment's Free State of Jones and Broad Green Pictures' The Neon Demon. While Independence Day 2 will put up the biggest fight, Finding Dory will most likely prevail at the box office for a second week in a row.

Finding Dory's opening weekend haul breaks Shrek the Third's $121.6 million record as the biggest debut for an animated movie, while also surpassing Toy Story 3's $110.3 million mark for the biggest debut in Pixar history.
