Re: Please help with firmware update gone bad!

Repost of last message with typos corrected to make the message clearer.

I have exactly the same issue with the same (90mm) lens.  I updated my X-Pro2 yesterday and then six lenses. All updated correctly (including an XPro-1). My 90mm failed, with the response "Firmware broken." The lens first caused the viewfinder to blink on and off repeatedly.

I removed the lens. I tested other lenses--all worked fine. I reattached the 90mm lens and tried re-flashing/re-upgrading. The lens was not even recognized. Even in normal mode (not trying to upgrade firmware) the lens was not recognized. Totally dead. The instructions on the site (posted by someone here in an earlier message) noted that with the yellow "broken firmware" message, one most contact a Fuji Service Center.

I have written Fuji's Service Center, per their support site instructions. My email has been received but has not been answered.

As the camera was updated first and as the 90mm was the 4th of six lenses updated, I don't think this was pilot error. The error, I assume, is a Fuji error.

I expect to have to pay big bucks to have Fujji repair their own error. The only other time this happened was with an Olympus 12-40mm lens which failed to update and then was rendered similarly inoperable and needed a complete logic board replacement. Olympus charged $250 to repair this problem caused by their updating software.

I assume there is no way to reset the lens and re-flash the software--at least, I have not been able to discovery any.

I will post again when I hear back from Fuji.
