Fujifilm Japan has announced that it is to stop production of its FP-100C instant film that enthusiasts use in old Polaroid-type cameras. The film has only been available in the 3.25x4.25in size recently, but it has been keeping vintage cameras clicking since Polaroid stopped production itself. Read more

Fujifilm didn't announce any new products at CP+ this year, but the show is the first chance that a lot of Japanese enthusiast photographers have had to get their hands on the X-Pro2 and X70, which were unveiled last month. Fujifilm has released its promised firmware update for its X-E2 mid-range mirrorless camera. The firmware update adds a host of feature and operational improvements, bringing it into line with the X-E2S. The improvements include the AF upgrades from the recent X-T models, as well as a revised user interface and multiple AutoISO settings. Read more

Last month, Fujifilm unveiled the X-Pro2 mirrorless camera with a February 18 release date. Per a statement issued late last week, the camera maker has postponed the release until early March due to an unspecified production delay and higher than anticipated global orders. Read more

Panasonic claims that it has achieved 10x higher saturation (more than 3EV greater dynamic range) in a sensor using an Organic Photoconductive Film (OPF) developed by Fujifilm. In addition to greater dynamic range, the new sensor technology promises other benefits that should appeal to both photographers and videographers such as global shutter and more flexible lens design. Among all of its new camera announcements, Fujifilm also made public the development of a new external flash. The EF-X500 is a high-end, weather-sealed model with a guide number of 50m at ISO 100, the ability to control up to three sets of off-camera strobes, and a high-speed sync mode that supports the X-Pro2's maximum 1/8000 sec shutter speed. Fujifilm has released the long-awaited followup to its flagship X-Pro1 mirrorless camera, aptly named the X-Pro2. While similar in design to its predecessor, virtually everything else about the X-Pro2 is new, including its 24MP X-Trans sensor, 273-point Hybrid AF system, 2.36M-dot 'Advanced Hybrid Multi Viewfinder', an electronic shutter, refined controls and menus, and a lot more.

Fujifilm has announced the X70, a fixed-lens compact camera designed in the spirit of the company's X100-series. While the X70 features the same 16MP APS-C-size X-Trans CMOS sensor as the X100T, it has a wider and slower lens (28mm equiv. F2.8) and lacks that clever hybrid viewfinder. What it does offer is Fujifilm's first touchscreen LCD, a max ISO of 51200, an electronic shutter, 1080/60p video and, of course, plenty of direct controls. Read more

The Fujifilm X-E2S is an update to the company's premium rangefinder-style mirrorless camera, the X-E2, which was introduced back in 2013. New features include an improved AF system, an electronic shutter, top ISO sensitivity of 51200, and an improved grip and refined menu interface. It has the same 16.3MP X-Trans sensor, 3" LCD, high-res electronic viewfinder and Wi-Fi functionality as its predecessor. Read more

Fujifilm has officially announced its Fujinon XF 100-400mm F4.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR lens, which has been on the company's roadmap since early 2015. This weather-sealed lens, equivalent to 152-609mm when mounted on an X-series body, has nine rounded aperture blades, 5 ED and 1 Super ED elements, and a fluorine coating. It also features a 5-stop image stabilization system and a linear motor. Read more

Fujifilm has released the FinePix XP90, a relatively minor update to last year's XP80 rugged camera, with the main new feature being a larger and sharper LCD. As with its predecessor, the XP90 is waterproof to 15m/50ft, shockproof from 1.8m/5.8ft, freezeproof and dustproof. It sports a 16MP CMOS sensor, 28-140mm lens and Wi-Fi connectivity - and it can double as an action cam. Read more

Fujifilm's XF 35mm F2 strikes an appealing balance between size, cost and durability. It's sealed against moisture and dust, making it a great candidate for use with the weather-resistant X-T1, and at $399 is a fairly affordable 'normal' prime for Fuji's X-system. The Pacific Northwest is just the place to test weather-resistant gear, though thankfully we've had enough unseasonably dry and sunny days to put together a real-world sample gallery with the 35mm F2. It's the season for pre-holiday financial earnings reports, and Fujifilm's latest numbers tell a familiar story - digital camera sales are down on the whole, with steady sales of higher-end products. Despite that, Fuji's imaging solutions division saw an increase in operating income, up to 12.4 billion yen in the first half of the financial year, marking a 2.7x improvement year-on-year. Fujifilm has added another lens to its X-mount, this one being a low-cost Fujinon XF 35mm F2 prime. This compact lens features a nearly silent internal AF system, 9-blade circular aperture, 2 ED elements, and is sealed against moisture and dust. Also announced is a 1.4x teleconverter, which is currently only compatible with the XF 50-140mm F2.8 zoom. It will, however, be compatible with future lenses, including the XF 100-400mm super telephoto lens expected next year. Fujifilm has added to its instant camera lineup, introducing the INSTAX Mini 70. The Mini 70 features a sleek re-design, a mirror on the front panel for selfie-framing, and automatic exposure with flash for better balanced low-light photos. Read more

According to a source speaking with Fuji Rumors, the Fujifilm X100T's successor will have a new lens. The present lineup of X100 cameras all feature the same fixed 23mm F2 lens, and if past announcement intervals are any indication, the X100 series may see an update just around the corner. Read more

The Fujifilm X-T10 puts many of the X-T1's capabilities into a smaller, less expensive body. It uses the same 16MP X-Trans CMOS sensor and EXR Processor II and, despite a more compact body, offers an additional custom function button and even squeezes in a pop-up flash. The Fujifilm X-T1 was a landmark camera in many ways, with it's extremely high resolution electronic viewfinder, great image quality, weather-sealed body, and engaging control system (we even gave it a Gold award). It's fairly commonplace for camera companies to follow up successful launches of high-end products, such as the X-T1, with a slightly-stripped down, more reasonably-priced alternative that uses many of the same components; a younger sibling, if you will. The Fujifilm X-T10 is exactly that.

Fujifilm has introduced the X-T1 IR, a version of its flagship mirrorless camera designed specifically for infrared photography. The camera captures light from UV, visible, and infrared portions of the spectrum, from approximately 380-1000nm. Everything else is identical to the standard X-T1. Read more

At 50X, the Fujifilm FinePix S1 may not have the longest lens in its class, but it is the only superzoom that's weather-sealed and one of the very few with Raw support. Naturally, this means that we did some Raw conversions and shot in in the rain, and you can see the results in our samples gallery. The Fujifilm XF 16mm f/1.4 R WR is a weather-sealed prime, equivalent to a 24mm field of view on Fujifiilm's X-mount cameras. With a close focus distance of just 0.15m/6in. and a fast F1.4 aperture, this lens is super versatile. In our sample testing we found it to be sharp, and to offer pleasing bokeh. The Fujifilm X-T10 shares a similar relationship to the X-T1 that the OM-D E-M10 shares with its siblings - advanced features borrowed from a higher-spec model in a compact body. The X-T10 uses the X-T1's 16MP APS-C X-Trans sensor but offers slightly downgraded hardware and lacks weather-sealing. We've had the X-T10 in our hands long enough to get familiar with it and put together some first impressions. Read more
