SD1 Merrill to sd Quattro - What have we lost?

I'm absolutely not being pessimistic about the sd Quattro, I am simply asking the question(s). I want to people to address the issues I raised, for example:

Will you miss the minimum shutter speed of 1/8000 sec?

It all kinda hurts my feelings though- having any kind of lag due to EVF will be a real impediment for birding and wildlife. Deeper buffer will be nice to have.
